I purchased this Dee Zee lowering system and the Tailgate Easy Lift together and installed them both. I found that having both the lift and lowering helped me greatly. And the best thing is they do not interfere with each other at all. On the lowering system I could not use the top washer because it moved the nut out too far and was rubbing the tailgate, NP. On the easy life, I drilled the holes and then turned my drill bit to where the holes was angled a little to match the torque rod, which made the installation a whole bunch easier . And greased all connection areas on both products. Thanks for sell these products and making it easier for me and my tailgate. And they work great together.......2007 GMC Classic Truck

Life changing.......well not really.....but this thing works perfectly even in deep cold of Wyoming winter. Chevy 2500 duramax. The soft opening tailgate makes a world of difference particularly when wife and guests like to let it fly otherwise. Do not over tighten bolts....if the strut doesn’t pivot you will snap mount. Only need one side. Absolutely one of the best things I have done to my truck and the least expensive. Buy it.....you’re welcome.

Bought one of these for my truck a few years ago fell in love with it bought one for my mother for Christmas, tailgates are heavy, with this she just pulled a handle and step back, it comes down nice and easy.

Order was received in a timely manner, package was missing one 8mm nut, but easily purchased a new one locally. Had to modify the post and washer that attaches the top of the shock and and stop cable to get cable to fit without rubbing the tailgate, and so the stop cable will fit in the tailgate. Not a job for someone with only basic tools.

Had the tailgate assist for a year now. I love it! Took about 5 minutes to install it and it works great. I also bought the e-z lift for the tailgate also and I wish I would have bought it years ago. It is the most used accessory on my truck. They make a great combination. It took about 15 minutes to install it. It does make it easier to have someone to help you hold the tailgate while you install the bar.

Just installed this tailgate assist on my 2007 chevy Silverado 2500 HD (classic style) and it went together flawless. It probably took me 10 minutes to install, super easy! I appreciated the instructions that came with it. Etrailers was great on delivery and i can't say enough about their videos and support they offer surroundeling all the products they offer. I would definitely recommend this product.

The tailgate damper was OK but not great. Would not buy another one. The descent was slowed somewhat but not a lot. I expected a slower down motion, and would have paid extra for an adjustable rate of descent.

Deezee tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate Lowering System. (Great)
This system makes life easier when you go to the airport my tailgate is very heavy.
When I installed this system the tailgate now comes down nice and easy. I would recommend this to all who have a tailgate with out the assist system.

I purchased this product with the Lift spring assist to make lifting the tailgate easier they both work great to the other I can now lift the tailgate one-handed and my wife also. Just as important I can let Go of the tail gate without it slamming great product it came on time great value, customer service very good.

This is my second DZ tailgate assist unit. I purchased this on for a different truck because the first on worked so well. Quick, easy install with only a 13mm socket and ratchet and a 13mm box end wrench. 20 minutes tops and done. Sure helps with these heavy tailgates! One-hand lowering is now a breeze.

Very easy to install, works great to allow tail gate to soft open. I ran into one problem when installing it, the shock mount with the radius cut in it needed trimed a little to get the bolt hole to line up.

Install wasn't anything like the install video for the product I reviewed when I ordered it - but it definitely was easy to install. Slightly different install method but it did away with the tool supplied method they showed in the video. That changed the mount location slightly. But no problem. Definitely WAY easier than what I'm having to do on my Toyota Tundra. This was installed on a 2006 Silverado 1500.
