Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the sliding latching wench for a flatbed truck or trailer. This latching wench can be used on the flatbed truck or trailer to secure a strap over your load. It works with wench straps up to four inches wide, and it does require a wench tightening bar, which is sold separately, but it does require one of those for operation. The wench tightening bar would insert on this side of the unit. On this side we have the lever and gear mechanism that is designed to hold the strap in the secure position. So you can see here, that as this tightens the lever engages an indention, which prevents it from being able to back feed or release tension.
When you are ready to release tension, you'll need to just disengage this lever.This is a sliding wench, so you'll notice that it has these areas right here. This is designed to install in a C channel wench track, which is not included. It allows you to slide the wench back and forth in the track to get your desired position, and then you just tighten down the strap to secure the wench in place. This is a standard profile wench, it's made from durable steel, features a nice powder coated finish on it to resist rust and corrosion. And it meets or exceeds Department of Transportation requirements, and NWTS TDA specifications.When it comes to some of the overall measurements, I did take a measurement of the overall width, so I measured from outer edge to outer edge and got a measurement of around eight inches wide.
Overall height, is about five and a half inches tall, and the overall length or measurement we get from front to back, is about three and seven-eights to four inches, right in that area. The working load limit is 6000 pounds, as engraved right here on the side of the wench. The mandrel diameter, which is this right here, it's one and 15/16th of an inch, and then each opening right here for a wench bar, that has a diameter of 15/16ths of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the sliding latching wench for a flatbed truck or trailer.
