The Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters - 60" Crossbars lets you carry ladders, kayaks, or other oversized gear while keeping your bed covered and weather-tight. It works directly with Retrax XR, Pace Edwards UltraGroove, and Ford Embark LS retractable tonneau covers using the included adapters that slide into their T-slot tracks. Great rack setup and install was super easy. Installed on a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 on a Retrax XR tonneau cover. Along with the Yakima SupDawg surf rack, haven’t even needed to raise the racks from their default height. Also best customer ever from etrailer. Even emailed me to let me know they can ship faster if I wanted a different crossbar length.
These Yakima Overhaul HD truck are outstanding! As a Mechanical engineer I can appreciate good quality workmanship and we'll engineers products. This rack system is certainly well engineered and we'll made. The installation was straight forward and the instructions are well writing. Less than hour to install and Yakima provides all the required tools.
As for the etrailer folks, well I couldn't be more pleased. Easy to order and the order tracking was really cool. You were able to see your order as it traveled from eTrailer to your home. Everyone I dealt with at etrailer was very helpful. I'll be placing another order soon!!!
Easy installation, great product, great customer service. Super easy to adjust. Some reviews online said the instructions were poor, if you can change a lightbulb you can install this rack. It gives you the torque settings but you need a torque wrench of course. I just used my best judgement and the allen wrenches provided. Some of the best communication throughout the ordering and shipping process I have ever had.
I've owned this truck for just over one year and had the kayak about the same amount of time. Due to the short bed, hauling the kayak in my bed was not an option. This meant I had to pull my trailer to the river/lake any time we wanted to take the kayaks out. I got this rack for my birthday and integrates perfectly with the Retrax bed cover. Just need the weather to get warmer now so we can take the kayaks out. the rack fits perfectly, it was a breeze to install. Everything lined up and installed exactly how it was illustrated. The etrailer team kept me informed on my shipment and it was delivered quickly. This is a great option supplied from a great company.
This new Yakima HD truck bed rack is fantastic for my new Retrax XR Tonneau cover. I've been looking for months to get this rack and no one had it in stock due to the pandemic. etrailer was the first one that I noticed to have it in stock and they quickly shipped it to me and it arrived in about 3 days. The instructions we very straight forward and I installed it in about 45 minutes due to the easy connection with the T bolts and the slots in the Retrax XR cover. It was basically a matter of connecting the bolts/nuts and adjusting/lining up the support posts. I will be using it to haul 2 - 12' kayaks when I have my bumper pull camper in tow. I'll also be using 4 Yakima Handroll Kayak Loaders on the rear to assist in getting them loaded on top of the high bed rack. I can't wait to try it out on one of my long haul camping trips.

Yakima product is very solid, as always. The T track adaptors do fit on the t-tracks on my tonneau cover on my '24 GMC Canyon. However, the Yakima t track rubber gasket adaptors do not quite fit the roll-n-lock M series XT tonneau cover I have without modification. I did have to cut down the outside of the rubber gasket as they are too tall, which forced the towers to angle in toward the middle of the truck. Once cut down it fit appropriately. Next, I had to cut the rubber gasket on the bottom of the middle of the tower, which overhangs the cover, as the cover has a lip that did not clear the rubber gasket when opening and closing. However the lip does clear the yakima towers when the rubber is removed so the cover does function normally once the rubber feet are modified. I'm sure yakima would not condone this, but it should not have functional consequences and so still fit my needs.
I love this rack. It provides an enormous amount of additional tie-down points and general overall flexibility for securing various load types.
Not only that, but it looks awesome in the process. People stop me to ask what this rack is and where I got it maybe once every couple months.
I also absolutely love that I didn't have to get a different tonneau cover to get it. I have a rolling canister-style top, and was able to just get the T-slot replacement side rails from Retrax, which wasn't a difficult install.
Overall I'm extremely happy with this rack.
I got this rack for my Ram 1500 with a Retrax Pro cover with rails. Installation was pretty straightforward and took about 30 minutes. I use it primarily for hauling around kayaks, and drove from Colorado to California with two kayaks. The rack itself seems really solid, and it's got convenient tie-down points. Driving with the two kayaks was not very loud, and without the kayaks, it's unnoticeable. The cons: first, the rails have some sharp plastic that wore through a cam strap and could easily cause a major issue. You have to be careful with how the straps are configured to make sure they don't rub against the sharp plastic. Second, it's not easily adjustable. I think for this much money they could have made it easier and quicker to move up and down as needed. Service and shipping was great.
Just finished installing the yakima hd overhaul racks and side rails on my pickup. Overall the product is very well made and looks great, i love it, with one glaring exception. I have a retrax xr1 bed cover which is designed to accept these racks with an adapter mounting pad designed for the retrax. These mounting pads are a huge disappointment, they are made out of a cheap rubberized plastic which over time will fad, crack and ultimately fail. These pads should be made with the same powder coated aluminum as the rest of the system. Also, the shape of the pads gets distorted when you tighten down the mounting bolts. All of this would be a very easy fix for yakima, at very little additional cost to the consumer. I would return the racks, but then i would also have to purchase a different bed cover, not doing that!!!. Very disappointed, i purposely purchased the retrax xr1 knowing yakima had this system, just wish i knew the mounting pads were cheap garbage!!!.

After a year, I’m very impressed with this rack. It’s versatile and sturdy. It’s more expensive than some of the other racks out there but it’s worth the extra $$.

Very expensive but very high quality. Getting ready to take my Ranger with the kayaks to Florida behind my Motorhome. Tested on an expressway run before the big trip. Very stable and secure
