Hi I was just wondering if the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters - 78 Crossbars Y01151-5955 would fit on my 5 bed 2021 Ford ranger with the retrax pro retractable tonneau cover

Hey Matt, welcome back. So long as you have a RetraxPro XR like item # RTT-60335, the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters item # Y01151-5955 will indeed work. However, if you have a RetraxPro MX like item # RTX56FR it won't because you don't have the t-slots.

Please note that the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters item # Y01151-5755 is the correct ladder rack for a 2021 Ford Ranger. This has 60" crossbars over the 78" ones on the item # Y01151-5955 you referenced.

Which RetraxPro cover do you have?

I have the retrax Rx with the tslot but I need the wider 78" crossbars for hauling two 36" wide kayaks just wondering if this would work for my bed or if the crossbars have limited width based on bed size

@RetaxR Ok, that's good. Item # Y01151-5955 will work. I was just letting you know the crossbars are quite a bit wider and are going to stick out a bunch. At that excess of a length I'd be worried about getting pulled over. The edge of the crossbars sit right at the sides of the bed so you'd be looking at 9" on both sides sticking out past your truck's bed rails. What kind of kayaks do you have? You could use the Malone FoldAway-5 item # MAL38FR and not have to worry about getting the wider crossbars.

@JerredH I have 2 old town sportsman 120 pdls l. They don't mount well on j racks most of the time. I'm more afraid that they will fly off if they are on j racks since they weigh a lot and are fairly wide.
