Availability of Pin and Clip for Bike Rack on 2011 Nissan Sentra With Draw-Tite Sportframe Hitch

Updated 05/04/2025 | Published 04/03/2025

Question:

I anticipate buying Draw-Tite 24794 Class 1 Trailer Hitch for my 2011 Nissan Sentra. My local mechanic states he will install it for me I dont have a hydraulic lift, and I will place a trailer hitch 2-Bike bike carrier. Your literature says drawbar, pin and clip sold separately.inch It seems I dont need a drawbar for the bike carrier Q-Slot Trailer Hitch Bike Carrier, 2-Bike, part no. 63134, but will need the pin and clip. Are the pin and clip readily available for Draw-Tite 24794? I suspect this is a stupid question, but I dont know the answer! Thank you!

Hey John! Would you like to install the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch # 24794 yourself if possible? You could use ramps like the Caliber Vehicle Ramp Kit # CA24AJ to get under there and install it. You would have them if you need them for any other work in the future and it will probably cost less than the labor for the hitch installation.

Regarding that hitch pin, it looks like the Reese Q-Slot Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack uses a threaded hitch pin. This won't be the standard pin and clip and we don't have replacement parts for that rack anymore aside from some straps. However, we have found that the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SA3022 is compatible with the 63134 so you can use it as a replacement.

Hi, Robin, I got the Draw-Tite 24794 1 1/4 " Trailer hitch from eTrailer, and it went onto my 2011 Sentra well. I am asking for your input regarding what bike rack to use with it. I have measured that, if you drop a vertical line from the rear edge of the bumper, it is 5 inches to the end of the trailer hitch, and 7 inches to the hole in the trailer hitch. I'm not certain which bike racks would give adequate spacing to fit on the car. Two candidates are Q-Slot Trailer Hitch bike carrier, 2 bike, #63134 (which we've spoken about), and theSwagman XTC2 Hitch Mount Bike Rack, which I favor. Which in your experience, would fit better? Is there a chance that I will need eTrailer's "Trailer Hitch Extender for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receivers-7" Long" e68YR? I will await your reply. Thank you! John

@JohnB I would get the Swagman XTC2 # S64671. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest wheel hoop is 8" so you will be able to clear the bumper without an extender. Swagman is also a reputable bike rack company. The Q-Slot is made by Reese which I'm not a big fan of ever since First Brands acquired them. If you need any support or parts from that company good luck, they might be able to help you out 6 months after you contact them.
