Recommended Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for a Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack

Updated 10/13/2025 | Published 09/13/2025

Question:

I want to use a lockable/quick release hitch pin instead of the bolt. Can I remove the threaded block for the bolt or just push it in past the 6mm allen bolt that holds the spacer on?

Hey Leonard. Swagman does make a locking anti-rattle hitch pin for your XTC2 TILT Bike Rack item # S64671, it is the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks item # S64029. This will fit the threads on your bike rack and not force you to modify it.

What you're talking about doing with removing the threads will definitely void any warranties but it's your bike rack at this point and you can do whatever you want with it. I recommend using the approved item # S64029 that way you're covered in the event of a parts failure.

What kind of bikes do you have?

@JerredH I was unable to find a suitable alternative to the bolt that comes with the rack.
