Question:

I own a Tesla Model Y 2024 and some mentioned it needs other Hitch Pin and lock to secure the Guiderail in place because the minimum room around the Tesla Hitch receiver. I also saw someone mentioned the exact same question a year ago on the Youtube video from Etrailer.com. However, I dont seem to find the best answer for the question. Its been quite a while so I think you guys already have the Answer. If you do Please let me know!

Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out. I do have a potential solution for you, but we are not aware of a locking pin that is made specifically to be compatible with the hitch on a 2024 Tesla Model Y. Your Best option for this will be to use a lock with a swivel head design like the Master Lock # 1479DAT. This allows the face of the lock to stick straight back instead of off to the side which makes operating the lock much easier with limited clearance. The overall length of the lock is 5-3/8" so I suggest you compare this length to the hitch on your Tesla to determine if it will fit.

Hey Jason, how did things go with the swivel head lock on your Tesla Model Y hitch? Did the clearance work out with the GuideRail rack in place? Your feedback could really help others trying to secure the same setup.
