Bikes with custom paint or carbon frames stay protected thanks to front-wheel-only contact. The Sherpa 2.0’s rotating arms use ratcheting hooks that clamp the front tire without ever touching the frame. Just drop the wheel into the cradle, swing the arm over, and press down until snug. It’s a quick, solid hold that keeps your bike steady on the road and your finish scratch-free.
Grabbing gear from the back is simple with the spring-loaded foot lever. Even with both bikes on board, you can tilt the rack down using just your foot and keep both hands free to guide it smoothly. When you’re done, fold it back up for storage. The same pedal design also folds the rack upright when unloaded, saving space and keeping it out of the way.
Installing the rack doesn’t call for wrenches or extra hardware. Slide the aluminum shank into your 2" hitch and tighten the hand knob until it’s snug. Inside, an anti-rattle wedge expands to lock everything in place for a silent, steady ride. The built-in locking hitch pin adds another layer of security so the rack stays put where it belongs.
At only 32 lbs total weight, the Sherpa 2.0 is easy to lift, remove, and store without help. Each tray holds up to 40 lbs per bike with room for 25"–29" wheels (and 20"–24" with an adapter, sold separately), tire widths up to 3.0", and wheelbases up to 47". The aluminum body’s pearl metallic powder coat resists rust while keeping the look clean for years of hauling.
The included 6' x 1/4" cable lock loops through both bikes and secures directly into the outer tray. A matching lock on the hitch pin keeps the rack attached where you mounted it—no separate keys or extra locks to juggle. With both locks keyed alike, one set covers everything so your bikes and rack are protected every time you park.

What a spectacular bike rack! I saw the rack in the local bike shop. I was sold. With the sales tax savings.... I caved and purchased online. The bikes are solidly cradled on the Kuat. A prior bike rake led to bike finish scrapes....not with the Kuat!

Love this hitch rack! Its very easy to load the bikes on and is very stable in the hitch (no wobbling or rattles).
And it’s light enough for my wife to pick up and install by herself when she’s riding with her friends.

Bike rack arrived promptly and undamaged. Now that it is assembled I love it. The etrailer website videos showing features and operation were much appreciated however the assembly instructions were lacking. There were unidentified parts, unlabeled parts, poor descriptions and I could not find a video to assist with assembly. It should have taken 15 minutes to assemble but took much longer because my 1st 2 attempts were unsuccessful.
This bike rack is great! Light weight and easy to get on and off of our car or truck and with the foot pedal we can move it out of the way with the bikes on it and still raise the door on the back of our Subaru. It is easy to load the bikes on the rack and secure them with the folding arms and straps on the rack.
Quick delivery and packaged well. This is sturdy, designed and built well. It was easy to assemble with the instructions as well as YouTube videos online. It holds the bikes safely and securely. The Pearl white color is an awesome contrast to my blue Tesla with white interior.
Very nice bike rack. I purchased the white (pearl) one. It matches my truck. Get lots of compliments. Easy to put on and very light yet strong. I recommend this bike rack. It does not put pressure on your frame. The bike sit on it and the clamps hold the tires down.
This is a sturdy, well engineered product. The shipping box acts as the assembly platform, making the assembly a snap. The rack fits perfectly in the hitch and the bikes are easy to mount. The bikes are held snuggly in place. The rack is expensive, but worth the money. One note, when folded up, it can interfere with the rear backup camera on our Jeep, which is not a big issue with me.
After ordering one rack that did not work out, I had a great conversation with Tommy C who guided me to the Kuat Sherpa rack. BINGO!!! Exactly what I needed. I had a hitch installed and put the rack on. I will say it was very difficult for me to assemble. I ended up calling a friend to help me. Once it was assembled it’s been a breeze to use. I can easily put it on by myself. I would’ve given 5 stars if the assembly had been easier.

Thanks to etrailer reviews and customer service we selected the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 pearl for our white Porsche SUV. The rack was easy to assemble and attach to our hitch. Bikes feel very secure. The color matches well to our car - interesting change from basic black. Etrailer kept me updated with status of order (was on back order due to high demand) and followed up post delivery.
The quality of the constructed parts and ease of use is excellent and justifies the cost of this bicycle carrier. Only gave 4 stars, because I had to disassemble the it some by loosing two bolts, to get the bolt I was to install to line up with the hole. This added about seven to ten minutes more to assemble time. In all there is only four bolts to be installed. The directions and on line video made it easy, except for the one bolt I had the issue with. Like the fact it is not black, but pearl white; nice on sunny 90 degree day to not burn the fingers. Excellent Made in America quality product!

Great product, both my wife and I like how easy it installs, and tighten into the hitch receiver nice and snug, no raddling. Holds the bikes nice and snug too. We get compliments on the pearl white color of the bike rack.
Quality product, good design/engineering, and works well with my mountain bikes, road bikes and ebikes with fenders. Like the quick bike mounting, integrated cable lock, easy to use knob for tightening the rack into the receiver hitch. I switched to a hitch rack with a new vehicle purchase after twenty years of a roof rack system. They each have their pluses and minuses but this Sherpa 2.0 seems to be a quality product after one year of use. I’d recommend the NV model for heavier ebike loads. Etrailer customer service, quick delivery and price makes them a go to vendor.
Very fast to mount and unmount the bike. I never remove the rack from the SUV - I can easily open the back doors by lowering the rack. Its been flawless. Never rattles. Supports the bikes by the wheels, not the frame. I have carbon frame bikes and don't worry about them even when driving over bumpy roads.

We still love this bike rack and it still works as well as when first used. Contacting me a year later to check truly conveys to me this company has a vested interest in their customers.
I purchased this product at the height of the pandemic and it took approximately 3-4 months to arrive. Once assembled, it turned out that a critical metal component of the rack had an apparent manufacturing/sizing defect that prevented proper assembly. I was impressed with Kuat's customer service, which requested I send photos of the suspect part and which ultimately resulted in the replacement of a large segment of the rack, the individual cost of which was approximately 25% of the overall purchase price. Since that replacement, the rack has worked flawlessly. Sometimes one has to chalk up a bad experience to the slim odds of a manufacturing defect, which occurred here. However, once examined, Kuat more than satisfied. But for the delays occasioned by the defect, would otherwise rate 5 stars.

Have assembled the hitch, very easy, but have not used it yet with the bikes. Will do so as soon as the weather improves for bike riding.
High quality product that looks good and should provide many years of excellent service.
Impressed with the light weight that is easy to move around. Significant improvement over past hitches which were very heavy and difficult for one person to install.

Have used the Kuat hitch now for over a year. Love the quality and good looks of the hitch as well as the light weight and ease of installation. Getting ready for our annual trip to FL for several months and many road trips in FL which will involve our electric bikes and our Kuat hitch.
I usually don't write too many product reviews, BUT I compulsively read them all the time in detail before purchasing items! This time I decided to return the favor to mankind and write a review for the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. I just LOVE IT! I had a problem assembling it - spent about 15 hours trying to put it together along with lots of additional help but it was impossible. The company paid for us to take it in to our local bike shop to fix it. So I was happy.
I am a petite 5'2" woman and not very strong and I am able to carry and put this rack into the hitch and load and strap my bike/bikes all by myself with relative ease!!! Which is exactly what i needed in a bike rack! I have had this rack for one year and have taken my bikes on this rack all over and they are secured extremely well. I also like that it has a bike lock/chain that is incorporated in the rack - so I didn't need to buy a separate lock! It also uses the same key that locks the bike rack to the hitch! So no juggling of two keys! I don't think there is anything else that I could have asked for in this rack that they could improve on and this says a lot coming from quite a fastidious consumer!
It also looks very sleek and stylish and goes very well with my white Nissan murano! Added bonus!!! I love it!

The quality of this rack is outstanding. I had a Saris super clamp ex and had to take it back for other reasons not related to quality and this rack by Kuwat is a better built higher quality rack and ease of operations is much better than the Saris. The attention to quality is evident right out of the box with the assembly process. You will be highly satisfied with this purchase!
I love this bike rack. I feel that my bikes are secure and it fits my road and mountain bikes. Also, I love the Pearl color as it matches my car.

This bike rack is a workhorse. I have zero complaints. Great product. It is easy to put on and off the car too.
Really impressed by the quality. Some minor assembly required but the factory has made assembly very easy. The rack is very sturdy & the hitch tightening assembly works really well. The rack positioning also works flawlessly and is solid. Yes it is an expensive rack but you get what you pay for here. Of course eTrailers shipping page keeps you abreast of where your package is located as it makes its way to you. As soon as UPS drops the package off at your door its immediately reflected on your orders shipping page. So you dont have to wait at home for it to arrive. Just check eTrailers online shipping page & you know when it has arrived.
No buyer’s remorse here! After quite a bit of reading and comparing, I have no regrets about purchasing the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. Excellent product, great quality. I would purchase all over again. It is a solid rack that is esthetically impressive to boot.
