Does Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack Adjust so Bikes Do Not Contact Each Other

Updated 04/02/2025 | Published 12/04/2019

Question:

Hello. I would like to know if this rack can be adjusted so that two bicycles do not rub each other in case the position of the handlebars and the seats match.

The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G (Gray), # SH22B (Black) or # SH22P (Pearl) does not have a way to adjust the position of your bikes, but there will not be an issue with the bikes coming into contact or rubbing against each other. The reason for that is because there is 14 inches of space from center to center of where the bikes mount. So even if you have a pair of mountain bikes with long handlebars the bikes will not make any contact or rub up against each other in any way.

I have added a photo a customer sent in showing this, and in their review, which you can find in the "Reviews" tab on the product page they say that there is plenty of clearance between the bikes even with their longer handlebars.

I have added a link to a video review of the Sherpa 2.0 for you to check out as well.

have two bikes: a road bike and a hybrid bike with a flat, long handlebar. After loading them onto the Kuat Sherpa 2.0, the road bike's saddle and the hybrid bike's handlebar make contact at the tail end of the road bike's saddle. The center tray should have been at least ½ to 1 inch longer to prevent this issue. I reached out to Kuat, but unfortunately, there's no solution since the rack is designed this way. The only workaround is to raise or lower the road bike's saddle.a spacer option might be and ideal solution with out compromising the bike rack design
