Video Transcript for Review of MEC Propane Fittings - Hoses - MEC68UR

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the MEC 24 inch RV propane trunk line hose. So when you're replacing the part of your RV's propane system or camper's propane system, or you just need a flexible connection between two components, this hose gives you two different fitting styles along with 24 inches of length to make routing that just a little bit easier. So on one end of the hose, you're going to have a three-eighth inch male MPT fitting. That's this guy here with the thread showing. This will thread into a compatible three-eighth inch female MPT port.

And since MPT connections seal up the threads, there's no need to use any kind of thread tape or anything like that. And on the other end, you have a three-eighth inch female flare swivel and that will connect with a compatible three-eighth inch male flare fitting. Now the swivel is pretty important during connection because you can just use a wrench and twist just the end, not the whole hose. And as always, whenever you do make your connections, you want to make sure you're testing them with some gas leak detection fluid. We carry that here separately, item number MEC78TR, and that's going to ensure that you're nice and safe once you've re-pressurized the system.

Again, 24 inches long, gives you lots of flexibility. It is a thermal plastic construction on the hose. It does use fully crimped brass ferrules, so it's nice and safe. Brass, as you know, is not going to create sparks and those kind of things. With gas, you want to be extra safe, right So this has been designed and approved for propane service.

Folks, that's going to wrap up our look together at this MEC propane trunk line hose. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
