Question:

I have a 2016 Honda AWD HR-V. I am trying to determine what I need to carry a Honda Grom 225 lbs without a trailer. Is this possible? Can you help? Ive seen this done on a small Toyota Prius, so I am hoping its possible on the HR-V.

The strongest trailer hitch receiver that is available for your 2016 Honda HR-V is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7322, It has a 300-lb Tongue Weight (TW) capacity. Since your Honda Grom is 225 lbs, you could use the 58 lb etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # e98873 and be within the tongue weight limit of 300 lbs. My research shows that your 2016 Honda HR-V also has a vehicle tongue weight limit, but you will need to verify this with your owner's manual, if my research is correct, you are good to go. I believe you will find this information on page 87 of your owner's manual.

Another possible route is to use a trailer to transport your Grom. You would need the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118673 so that you can tow a small trailer for your Honda Grom. You will also need a ball mount and a hitch ball.
