Best 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for a 2026 GMC Terrain to Carry a 4 Bike Rack

Question:
I am looking for a bike rack trailer hitch for my new car. I have a 2026 GMC Terrain. My bike rack holds up to 4 bikes. It is a 2x2. On your site, for my car, I can only find 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 hitches. What do you recommend I buy please?

Hi Mike, great question. If your 2026 GMC Terrain is not the diesel model, then you can absolutely use a 2 inch hitch for your existing 4 bike rack. I think the reason you didn't see it is because of an issue with our search results, and I'm working on getting that corrected. The hitch I recommend is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C77FR. It has a 2 inch receiver, so your current bike rack will fit directly without needing an adapter, which is always the better way to go for strength and stability. This hitch is a confirmed fit for the 2026 GMC Terrain on the Curt fit guide.
Since you're carrying up to four bikes, I definitely recommend sticking with a 2 inch receiver instead of a 1-1/4 inch hitch and an adapter. Using the 2 inch hitch keeps everything more secure and helps minimize movement, especially when the rack is fully loaded.

Hi Heather, thank you for your response. I had received a response from etrailer the day that I posted my question to your company and that person said that they had nothing there that they could do for me. They didn’t have a 2 x 2 hitch for a 2026 GMC terrain and that’s all they said. So I ordered one from another company.
