Trailer Hitch Installation on 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel
Updated 04/27/2020 | Published 04/04/2016 >
Question:
Hi I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and want to install a trailer hitch myself. The OEM part is very complicated to install and requires removal of the bumper and removal of the existing crossmember. It seems that your hitches may install on this same existing crossmember that Chrysler is saying to remove. I would be curious if their complicated way is better as it connects to something stronger? Thank you for your reply.

The confirmed hitch fit we have for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is the 2-inch Class III hitch # C13182 from Curt. I have linked for you both the written instructions, which note the tools required, and an installation video to help guide you through the process.
This hitch installs on your GC using OEM fasteners already on the vehicle and requires only two of them for each side of the hitch, making this a very clean and easy install. There is no frame cross member involved in the installation but you will have to lower the DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) tank.
