CAN I PUT A WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION HITCH ON A 2017 GRAND CHEROKEE... I PLAN ON TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER THANKS

Yes, you can use a weight distribution hitch on your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee so long as your Jeep's hitch is rated for weight distribution; for example if you had the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13182 you could use it.

To find the right weight distribution hitch you need to know the total tongue weight of your fully loaded trailer, which you can find using a tongue weight scale like # e99044.

You'd use that to find the right weight distribution hitch, and your trailer's total tongue weight should be in the middle of the WDH rating. For example if your trailer's tongue weight was 625 lbs you could use the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE94FR which is rated for tongue weights between 400 lbs and 800 lbs. How does the unibody frame of the Jeep Grand Cherokee affect the WDH VS. body on frame?

@DaveF it doesn't have any impact on the use of a WDH since the frame can handle it. Not all unibody frames are unable to use a WDH, it just depends on the build.
