I had to use a sledgehammer to align the bolt holes up with the frame other than that works fine.

arrived fast

Excellent fit . It took me about a hour to install on a 2005 Chrysler town and country stow-n-go van .I installed by myself using 2 Jacks.
Quality work it fit perfectly.
And by the way I'm 71 years all , it took me longer to get up to move side to side then to install lol .

Very very fast shipping. Excellent fit. . Enjoyed that the tracking showed me who received my order. Who packed my order and when it would arrive. Well built hitch and easy to install. Will definitely shop here agin for my hitch needs

Great fit!....shipping took a few days longer than expected but overall very happy with product

by:

Used on my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van with Stow and Go seats.
In order to install this hitch you’ll need to lift the center of the car body using a jack to let the leaf springs sag a little. This will open the areas where you need to slide the hitch into between the leaf springs and all that’s underneath the van.
It will make it easier to guide the hitch into the areas of their respective mounting hole locations.
It took a bit longer until we realized this situation but it aligned fine with the threaded holes and we fastened it with the factory screws. Fits snug.. Nice Job!!!

by:

After reading the installation instructions online and seeing the time for the average person to install the hitch, I took on the challenge. A challenge it was. Not because the hitch didn't fit right (it is a snug fit, however), it was because this is a 16year old Town & Country with 306,000 miles on it.

I had to use a half inch drive impact tool with 6 point sockets. By the way, the three rearward bolts are a 15mm head and the single forward one is an 18mm. Getting the hitch up and over the leaf spring has to be done at a severe angle in order to allow for the width. Once pulled back rearward it was challenging to get it raised evenly, even using a floor jack. But it did eventually line up enough to get a bolt in on each side. Putting in the forward bolt went well on the driver's side, but in order to line up the passenger side I had to resort to a 12lb sledge hammer to nudge that side of the hitch forward to fit the bolt. I must say, all in all, a very nice fit. Tight is good for a trailer hitch.

very heavy duty

I have recieved this hitch and I am satisfied with looks and
quality. I have not got it installed yet, so I can't comment
on ease of installation.

2006 Chrysler Town and Country

Good receiver, well built. Shipping was very quick-even at the most cost effective rate. However install time........says 20 minutes. It took me 3-4 hours. I was doing it by myself on the garage floor. An experienced installer in a commercial garage could do it much quicker.

I am having difficulty installing this. What was the trick that you found to get it to fit?

What difficulties are you having? Are you having trouble getting the hitch into position? I have added links to a couple videos of the install of this hitch.

by:

Perfect fit very well designed. I have a hoist which makes installation easier. If installing without a hoist I recommend putting the car on jack stands allowing the rear axle to hang down to give the needed clearance to install the hitch. There are four bolts on either side with three behind the leaf spring shackle and one forward of the shackle. This forward attachment point will require some twisting and adjusting angles to get it into position above the leaf spring. I lifted the hitch in at an angle with the passenger side close to the axle and the driver side to the rear getting the forward brackets of the hitch above the leaf spring before squaring up the hitch. As this hitch uses existing rear frame bolts you should verify that your bolts will loosen up before installing. I used Kroil penetrating oil on the bolts to loosen them a couple days before I installed. I installed by myself, but I recommend having and extra set of hands to make the job easier. I have this on hitch on my 2005 and 2007 Chrysler Town and Country vans.

Easy to order with prompts and help if needed. 2nd time ordering a trailer hitch and wiring harness for the hubby and I am 77 years “young”.
I am hoping my husband will be surprised and very pleased on Christmas morning.

by:
Nissan Leaf

Installation was somewhat difficult. The hitch was about a 1/2 in to narrow. I needed a piece of wood and a 3lb hammer to set the hitch in place. The attached photo shows the interference with the body flange.

It then took a specific bolt tightening sequence to get the holes to line up.
1. The most forward, single bolt was started.
2. The center alignment bolt for the leaf spring bracket had to be 3/4 tightened.
This step aligned the rest of the holes.
3. The rest of the bolts could then be installed.

I have not yet towed, but I'm confident the Hitch will pull my pop-up with no problems.

I will review the wire harness separately.

by:

Very fast shipping. Curt hitches are very good quality hitches. I have bought them before and they work great. Install was not hard but a little tricky. I definitely used and needed 2 people for the install. Everything fit perfectly once installed. The videos on etrailer were awesome to watch and made installation very easy. A word of advice: make sure to spray down the mounting bolts on your vehicle a couple of days before your install. Then try and pre-loosen them before your install day as well. This will make for a smoother install. (Actually I did this even before ordering the hitch to make sure my bolts would come loose and the install would be possible)

by:

What can you say... about ordering a Reese class III hitch on Friday and it arrived Monday about 10:30am in the next state, and was on by noon. A perfect fit (incredibly tight), whoever engineered it needs a medal.

by:
Chevrolet Colorado

Shipping from Missouri to Colorado was fast. I had the hitch shipped to a UPS terminal and when I arrived to pick it up it was pointed out to me that it had broken through the box in two places. Packing rates a C minus.
I installed the hitch as a solo effort made easier by getting the van up on jack stands and using my floor jack to position the rather heavy hitch. To say the fit is tight is an understatement. Eventually, everything went together but I had to get out the BFH to do some fine tuning.
The hitch hugs the rear bumper and is unobtrusive. If it weathers well I'll be quite pleased with the unit.

2006 Chrysler Town and Country

Originally I ordered a different hitch thru U-Haul, but they said it was too difficult to install and they couldn't do it, so I came here and found this model. It fits perfectly. The product seems to be very well made. No hardware provided as it uses existing bolts already on car. I had it installed at local garage. They didn't want to do it, but I explained that the video showed it was easy, so they agreed to take a look. In the end they said it was difficult to get past springs, but they did it and I'm happy.

Raising your 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan off the ground will help in installing the Curt Class III Hitch # 13389. With the vehicle off the ground, you will give your self more room to manipulate the hitch around the spring shackle to line the hitch up to the mounting holes on the van. Using a jack with jack stands will help for your installation. You will not need to use an automotive lift like the one in our video.

The Curt Hitch - 2" # 13389 fits 2005-2007 Chrysler Town and Countrys with stow-n-go seating. While we do have other brands that fit your vehicle, we unfortunately do not have any models that install with a hidden crosstube. Those other options are the # C12289, and the # e39KR. All of these options have visible crosstubes. Out of all of these hitches, I recommend going with the # 13389 you were looking at. This weight rating is the amount of weight that will load downward onto the hitch. It is definitely capable of carrying a bike rack with your bikes loaded.
