What Direction Should Demco eZ-Latch Gooseneck Coupler Latch Face

Question:

Is there a recommendation as to which direction the latch of the coupler should face? I am inclined to face it to the rear for multiple reasons but wanted to double check. Thanks.

Hi Dennis; the Demco eZ-Latch Gooseneck Coupler # DM73KV can face any direction as long as the holes line up. If you think it will work best facing the rear I would install it that way. Worst case, if it doesn't work as well as you want it to you can flip it around to face the front.

Hey Dennis, how did things go with the Demco eZ-Latch Gooseneck Coupler once you tried it facing the rear? Your results could really help others deciding which direction works best.

@RobinH I faced the latch to the rear as I figured most of the time the load will be pulling forward on the coupler. The latch portion of the coupler is not as smooth as the opposite side so I feel there will be less wear on the ball with the latch facing the rear. It has worked well so far and have not had any issues.
