Can I Use the Demco eZ-Latch Gooseneck Coupler on My Texas Pride Gooseneck Trailer?

Updated 11/14/2025 | Published 10/18/2025

Question:

I have a Texas Pride gooseneck trailer. I would like to put a DEMCO hitch on the trailer, but I only see it offered in a 4round. If my research is correct I need to find a 3 15/16 round due to the outer tube being a Chinese part. Im getting this 411 from the Shocker Hitch website Can help confirm this and make a recommendation?

Hello Danny,

Does that mean that your trailer is bigger than all the others, just like everything else in Texas..... bad joke, I know.

I have not heard of any issues with the Texas Pride and not being able to use the Demco eZ-Latch Gooseneck Coupler # DM73KV, so I went ahead and reached out to our tech friend and Demco to see if he had heard of any issues, and he has not either.

In order to know if it is really going to work or not, you will need to get a caliper and measure the OD of the tube you currently have, that will let us know for sure if it is going to work or not.

Please let me know what measurement you come up with, I am curious to know and would like to forward the information to the tech at Demco as well.

Hey Danny, were you able to measure the outer tube on your Texas Pride trailer to see if the Demco eZ-Latch coupler fits? Knowing that size would help confirm if the 4-inch round model works or not. Your update could make it easier for others checking their gooseneck setups too.

@KateF I did measure and in fact needed a 3 15/16 diameter. I'm sure this isn't to be recommended but I did move forward and purchase the DEMCO coupler and turned the tube down to the 3 15/16" diameter. Not everyone will have availability to a lathe as I do but I expect if you took one to a machine shop and had this done it would be around a $50 project. I'm comfortable with the loss of warranty on my end but a lot of people wouldn't be.
