Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Durabilt 16 foot long E Track tie-down strap with the ratchet. And as you can see, the strap is in a gray color, has a 1,000 pound working load limit. Now, you can see this is a two-piece polyester strap. It is equipped with steel ends that are designed to fit into your vertical or horizontal E Tracks that are installed in enclosed cargo trailers. Just to give you an example of what an E Track is, if you're not familiar, I'm popping up an insert and there's what the E Track looks like and that's what these connectors will snap into.

The ratcheting buckle will allow you to tighten and lock the strap in place to secure whatever you're carrying. The strap dimension is two inches wide. Overall length on these when you're put together is 16 feet. Now the short end, which is this one here with the ratchet on it, is four feet long. Maximum load or brake strength on this strap is 3,000 pounds.

The safe working load limit, which is always a third of the brake strength, is 1,000 pounds. And one note I do wanna mention is tie-down straps like this must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. Basically, the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So just to give an example, if you're using straps that would've a working load limit of 500 pounds each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended that you use straps in pairs.
