Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness. The connection point for the 4-way tow harness is located in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. The ModuLite plugs into the factory wiring harness beneath your dash, on the driver's side. Once you've plugged in the ModuLite, insert the included fuses into the built-in fuse holders.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within the spare tire compartment of your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Honda provides ton's of headroom in an Element...u dash room...not so much.
That said, the install was very easy. Plugs were where you said and it snaped together like a charm.

2008 Honda Element

The Product worked Like They said. I was very Happy. I would Buy from them again and Recomend Them to a Friend,

by:

Product arrived very quickly after ordering. The problem with installation was my own fault for not looking for the correct plug to hook to. I had made a phone call and they helped me right away, which made for a quick installation. I have not had a chance to test it yet.

by:

Always try twice. I attempted to connect to a green connector that was too big the first time and figured I had the wrong product, so looked at other years and then again at the picture directions. Thank you for picture directions that say "not the green one." ON my second (really third) attempt the under dash connector clicked in perfectly and I'm betting it works as well when I hook the trailer back up. Great company, great product. Thanks, -jason

by:
2007 Honda Element

Since I'm using the harness every week, I cut it and routed it threw a small hole. Goop with sealant. Good to go. Look at the ratings and find the pictures that show the interior hook up. Easy.

by:

As always, when I order from etrailer, the items arrive very quickly, the order always includes everything needed, and the items are the cheapest on the internet.

Happy again!

by:

plug and play! Easiest electric wiring install I have ever done. Watch the video online

by:

It was easy to pick out the proper hitch and the accessories that need to go with it. The order process was also easy and it was shipped and delivered in just a couple of days.
I have not installed it yet but I can tell that it will install quickly.
Thanks for the great service!

by:
2008 Honda Element

by:

Best price, as represented, well packaged, quick shipping, good communication.

by:
2010 Honda Element

Easy, easy, easy! Hardest part was physically contorting myself to get up behind the dash to actually make the plug in connection.
Next vehicle, I'm coming right back here to etrailer!

  • Does Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness 118465 Fit 2007 Honda Element SC
Hey Peter, yes the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness part # 118465 does fit your 2007 Honda Element SC. Do you have a trailer hitch already?

  • Trailer Wiring Harness For A 2011 Honda Element
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118465, The Curt Harness # C56029, and The Hopkins Harness # HM11143225 are all the same when it comes to wiring your 2011 Honda Element. The T-One Vehicle Harness # 118465 is a higher grade of wiring (16 gauge) so it will be able to survive the elements longer then the other two harnesses. Every once in awhile there is a bad harness because it wasn't made right but I strongly would choose going back to The T-One harness # 118465 over the other two....

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2006 Honda Element
That very well could be a connector for trailer lights that you have found on your 2006 Honda Element. However, none of the available wiring harnesses for your Element plug into that connector. They are all hardwire options that require splicing into the vehicle tail light wires. But what you can do is use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter if you have one to test the pins or the wires of that connector you found while someone sits in the vehicle to operate the lighting functions....

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for 2006 Honda Element
For your 2006 Element, you will need to use a hardwired converter, like part # 119178KIT. The converter will tap into the factory wiring harnesses feeding your taillight assemblies. The best place to tap the wiring in would be directly behind the tail light assemblies. You would use the circuit tester included with the kit to probe the wires feeding each taillight assembly to determine which wire carries which circuit. Activate the left turn signal, and then probe the wires feeding the...

For your 2008 Honda Element SC I would recommend the Curt Hitch part # C11699 which is a confirmed fit and has a 1-1/4" inch opening. We do not currently (June 2023) have a 2" hitch for your element SC. For trailer wiring you would then want the part # 118465 which is also a confirmed fit. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in the Draw-Tite ball mount # 3593 which includes a pin and clip. Then for...

Basically the Tow Ready Harness part # 118465 and the Curt Harness part # C56029 are two different manufacturers take on the same wiring harness. Either will work and will accomplish the same thing. I like the Curt wiring harnesses better though as they use a more modern circuit board with makes them a bit more reliable.

  • Hitch Fit for 2007 Honda Element SC
If you're wanting a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, you'll want to go with the Curt # C11699 for a 2007 Honda Element SC, as the # C11700 isn't a fit for the SC model. This being said, I'd recommend going with a Class III hitch with the 2-inch receiver opening, like part # e78KR. The 2-inch receiver is much more common, and there are a lot more available accessory options for the 2-inch receiver such as cargo carriers or bike racks. The price differential between the 1-1/4 inch...

I called my contact at our supplier and asked about your 2006 Element. There may have been a change when the car was manufactured and the trailer wiring was added to your vehicle but we really have no way of knowing. Our records indicate the trailer wiring harness for your Element is a hardwire installation. For that you would want part # C59496. This connection is essentially a loop circuit that powers the vehicles tow package wiring to the rear spare tire compartment.
