Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2010 Honda Element

Hitch and wiring harness where delivered quickly and in pristine condition. Hitch fit perfectly on our 2010 Honda Element, only took one hour to install the hitch and harness. The suggestion to tape the large washers to the frame rails during installation was definitely the way to go. 690986

2010 Honda Element

My thanks to the previous customers for photos and videos. It helped. Also, E-Trailer BOM was complete with no missing items, and included basic instructions. Hitch arrived within a few days. Ordinarily I have had hitches installed for me in the past. But this Honda Element hitch (have 2010 Element) did not require drilling and the pictures and videos from previous customers made the installation appear pretty simple. Note the sleeve/spacer will only slide on the bolt from the inner side of the frame so cannot pre-assemble on the bolt. Almost dropped sleeve inside frame while blindly attempting to slide onto second bolt, missing the bolt as inserted sleeve into hole. Hardest part for me was getting hitch into place to get initial U-bolt connected in center, before doing frame bolts as was suggested by one customer. It was just a matter of my lesser body strength and not complexity. I installed the hitch in slightly over one hour working alone. Did not install wiring harness yet, as my primary reason for the hitch is using it with a motorcycle carrier. Might just be an adjustment of the hitch mounting bolts, but I noticed that the hitch is slightly distorting the plastic bumper cover where the hitch is hitting it on the bottom center at the hitch neck. Not enough to be too worried about and do not want to cut the bumper plastic. 163536

Fast delivery, no missing parts, very sturdy hitch. I repainted it to match my 2005 Element rear bumper. Used Rustoleum hammertone light gray. I followed a suggestion that one of the commenters had about taping the large fender washers in place to avoid trying to shove them up into place while jostling with the hitch. This trick makes this a one person operation. Also I installed the forward bolts first then swung the hitch up to set in the rear two bolts. Worked like a charm. Had no problem installing the “U” bolt, as some people mentioned. Note in the photo there is my aluminum angle that is bolted the steel tab on the left side of the receiver. Eventually I will drill a 3/4” hole in it for a quick disconnect round four wire plug. 570783

My experience with e-trailer was one of those times when you think this is going too easy and there has to be a catch. There wasn't. Living in Alaska it's sometimes hard to get parts. After checking with local suppliers I found the receiver I needed for my Honda Element had to be ordered and would take two weeks. We needed it in a week. I was able to find the exact part I needed on e-trailer at a very competitive price and it arrived in 3 days. The representative I talked with was great. He doubled checked that the receiver I was ordering was the right one, checked availability and reassured me it would go out the next morning. When it arrived we had it installed in less than hour. Crisis averted with out a hitch. No pun intended. 267159

2015 Honda Element

I have to say etrailer hooked it up. Ordered my hitch on a Tuesday and got it the next day, got to give them a high five on that. I have a 2011 Honda Element EX, needed a hitch for my bike rack. I was looking for a hitch that would fit without any issues. Picked the Draw-Tite because it had a great review and the people on the Honda Element Forums suggested it. After I got the hitch it took about 15 min to install, actually it took longer to torque the bolts down than the actual install. As you can see from the photo their is a little bit of bumper bend but nothing that you would notice unless you looked really close. Thanks again etrailer it was great doing business with you. 16549

Thanks TJ!Its really helpful your comment and pics, especially the one with the bend. Im just wondering if DrawTite fixed this a bit of bend issue with the latest product or, its really small bend to notice, as you mentioned above. It would be nice if you can post a pic from the back, just like the other once, but without the bike carrier. I just want to see how it looks without the carrier from the back.Anyway, thanks for your review! It really helps us to decide to go with this hitch.Cheers,

2008 Honda Element

I am happy to report a good experience from etrailer. I ordered DrawTite hitch 75659 for a 08 Honda Element SC, also wiring. I chose this hitch becaused of the way it mounted no drilling or enlarging holes, seemed like the best design for the Element. The orrder was shipped quickly to Okla. I had no trouble with installating of either hitch or wiring. Note, the u clamp was slightly narrow to line up with the holes in the hitch. I spread slightly before installing. I did have to trim bumper plastic which I was hesitant at first, I was careful and it now looks better than being pushed up. Thanks to Molly for good service and tracking info. 470567

Honda Element

This hitch didn't fit my Honda Element as well as the Class I hitch it replaced (same brand); it was about 1/4" too narrow. A trip to the local hardware store for some more washers solved the problem however. The instructions and illustrations are very good, I probably spent a couple of hours getting everything to fit just right, but now I have a much stronger hitch and I'm ready to tow my camping trailer. 83847

Unfortunately I was in a bad accident and totaled my Honda Element?. I replaced it with a 2014 Honda CRV and put a Hidden Hitch in it about 6 months ago. It was a trickier installation than the Element, but the hitch fit very well and is stronger than the OEM hitch, so we have another winner!-Les-

As others have commented, the product descriptions and installation instructions provided by etrailer.com were excellent. Order Class III - 2" for a 2008 Honda Element SC. The hitch was promptly delivered in three days. As guided by your site, and a very prompt follow-up to my email questions by customer service representative Leah S., I was able to develop an plan to trim the bumper/fascia prior to installation. Used a "31 tooth per inch" jig saw blade to trim the required cut out. See trim planning pic and installation pic. Thanks for all your assistance...and great product. Installation was a breeze (after watch several of the you-tube instructional videos)! 191995

2006 Honda Element

Great product, great service. The hitch for my Honda Element came very quickly- less than four days. Directions for mounting the hitch were clear and it was relatively easy to attach it; attaching it is best achieved with two people; it could be done with one, but it would be quite awkward. The hitch is on my car, looks great, ('cause you can hardly see it when the ball isn't on), and is already in use. I went with the 3,000 lb. rated hitch even though my Element is only rated to tow up to 1,500 lb.- just seemed prudent. 44213

2006 Honda Element

The hitch arrived fast and safe. I installed it this morning in less than an hour. It fit very well into place. The only trouble was the u bolt didn't quite line up with the holes on the hitch. I was able to spread it with a screw driver and it dropped into place through the holes enough to place the nuts on the treads and tighten them. Other than that, it was an easy install with just some ordinary hand tools. We used some duct tape to hold the spacer washers in place like some others advised which worked out great. Highly recommended product. 276955

Product delivered ahead of schedule. Installed in my garage in a hoodie with safety goggles on my back. Takes half hour with no power tools. I am going to say I dig the outdoors and eventually will get a trailer, but until then I wanted to get in the groove of pushing myself to save and do it. I am going to promote myself here too, visit my tattoo shop in Olympia Washington, for custom work from a semi-retired tattoo artist. Great product and service. Thank you. 588309

Arrived in a few days, properly packaged and protected. This is a very sturdy tow bar. It's a two person installation job, but it's not difficult at all. There are cheaper ones out there, but when I'm pulling a trailer over the California grapevine, I'll be grateful I went with this one. 828129

2007 Honda Element

I purchased and installed the Draw-Tite 118465 hitch this time last year for my wife's 2007 Honda Element. We use it to tow a Sylvansport GO camper, 840lbs in weight unloaded. Installation was a breeze, thanks to the video on etrailer's website. I was able to hook up the hitch and wiring harness in about an hour, super simple job. Over the last year we've towed the GO all over NM (we're in Albuquerque) and CO. The hitch and wiring setup work beautifully, never a single problem in several thousand miles of towing the camper. Etrailer is a great company to do business with, this wasn't my first purchase from them and it definitely won't be the last. I actually recommended them to a friend who's building out a VW Eurovan as a camper and he needed a hitch. He ordered the hitch from etrailer a few days ago and we'll be installing it on the van next week. Thanks, etrailer, you all are the best. 808872

  • Recommend Trailer Hitch for 2008 Honda Element To Use with Bike Rack
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75659 is what I recommend for a 2008 Honda Element because it offers the easiest installation of all other options which mind you is drill-free. In regards to compatibility with a bike rack like the RockyMounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10002, there will be no issues as this is a great hitch for bike racks. None of the hitches we offer would have enough weight capacity for a tongue weight of 450 lbs. Highest we have is the Draw Tite part # 75659 which has tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. Even still you'd be limited by the capacity of the vehicle which will be 150 lbs like you mentioned. You'd have to look into a small trailer. • Does 2 inch Draw Tite Hitch for 2005 Honda Element Have Stopper or Back to Tube
What happened to you with the hitch that had the stopper is actually a pretty common occurrence. That stopper is in the hitch tubes of Class I hitches to prevent the use of heavier Class II accessories. Reason being that Class I hitches are lighter duty. The Draw Tite hitch part # 75659 actually has an open back and does not have a stopper so it would work well for you as long as your bike rack is designed for a 2 inch trailer hitch. This would work great with the Yakima HoldUp EVO...
