Great vendor, great product. We have 6 trailers at our home; 2 boat, 1 tandem utility, 3 single axle utility that need to be moved around frequently for space reasons. Airports need to "push back" planes from their gates for which the "tugs" have hitches on their front bumpers. That arrangement allows greater steering control than if their hitches were mounted on the rear of the "tugs". So, I've mounted this wonderful hitch to the front bumper of my '86 Isuzu Trooper II 4-wheel drive which I use to position my trailers. Of course it's NOT safe for highway travel, but as a positioning aid, it is superb. Also; etrailer communications and speed of delivery cannot be improved. Don't change anything, etrailer. 528646

Good product, reasonable price, easy to find on etrailer. Just what was needed to add a bike rack on the rear bumper of our travel trailer. Just as advertised, works fine, seems strong enough - though time will tell. Arrived in good time, as predicted. 873371

I'm using this to mount a pretty large and heavy 4-bike rack to the rear bumper of my camper. This thing is stout. It has nylock nuts so I don't have to worry about the nuts backing off. Also has a threaded bolt hold in the side w/ bolt so that you can snug up whatever you put in the receiver (bike rack, etc.) to keep it from swaying. I really like that feature. 816733

Luck was on your side for a nice piece of furniture for my trailer. The package arrived ok but when I went to open it -- I had no trouble. The shipping expert had forgotten to tape the box on the lid!!! Thankfully because the connector was tightly packed, it did not fall our and break someones foot or get lost and thrown in the trash. 809822

Ask the Experts about this Swagman RV and Camper Hitch

  • Bumper Mounted Trailer Hitch for RV That Mounts Underneath Bumper
The only solution really is a new trailer hitch receiver because the Swagman RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # S64025 is a clamp-on designed only to be mounted above the the bumper and doing otherwise compromises the safety and integrity of both the hitch and your RV. There are bumper mounted hitch receivers that will accommodate 2 inch bike racks, which is what the Swagman was designed to do. The Buyers Products RV Universal Receiver Hitch # 3371804060 has a 2" receiver and as you...

  • Recommended Travel Trailer Hitch Receiver and Cargo Carrier for Gas Generator
On your Dutchmen Coleman Lantern 17rd travel trailer, I recommend the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 which has a weight capacity of 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. Then for a 4,000 watt running generator like the Q-iPower # 289-AP5000 which weighs 117 lbs and has dimensions of 23-1/4" long x 17" wide x 18-1/2" tall, you will want a cargo carrier like the TorkLift Lock and Load # TLA7752. This will not only help carry the generator but also deter theft. If you want...

We offer both frame-mount and bumper-mount trailer hitches for use on the rear of a motorhome like your 2003 Newmar Kountry Star Class A. The bumper-mount hitch you referenced, Swagman # S64025, is intended for bumpers that are continuously-welded across their entire length. This hitch can be used only with an RV-approved bike rack. It cannot be used for towing or with cargo carriers. The link provided will let you see all available bumper- and frame-mount RV hitches. For a frame that...

  • Will the # 64025 Swagman RV 2 inch Receiver Bumper Mount Adapter Mount Underneath the RV Bumper
One option we have for mounting a receiver under the bumper of your RV is the RV Bumper 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # E-100. The only problem I see with the location you are suggesting is the distance from the bottom of the receiver to the road surface. If there is not enough clearance the clamp on hitch, bike rack shank or bikes themselves may make contact with the road and damage one or all of the components including the RV bumper. I spoke with my contact at Swagman and was...

  • Why Can't Folding Bike Racks be Used with the RV Bumper # S64025
In order for a bike rack to be rated for the rougher ride associated with the back of an RV (like what the # S64025 would install on), it has to be reinforced appropriately and folding mechanisms are known for being a weak point on bike racks. So the reason for that requirement of the hitch is because of how the hitch will normally be used. If you have a folding bike rack currently most likely it is not rated for use behind an RV. Because of that I would recommend you go with one like...

  • Carrying Bikes on Travel Trailer Using Swagman Universal RV Bumper Hitch
If your trailer has a continuously welded steel square bumper of up to 4 inches wide then this hitch can be mounted to it as long as your bumper is rated for a hitch. For carrying bikes you will have to consult your RV dealer to find out the tongue weight rating for your trailers bumper. The Swagman RV Bumper Hitch you referred to is rated for up to 200 pounds but you can not exceed the weight rating for your bumper. Many of the bike racks state that they are not to be used behind travel...

  • Bumper Mounted Hitch Recommendation to Tow a Small Trailer and a Golf Cart
The main purpose of the Swagman Bumper Mount Adapter, # S64025, is to carry a bike rack behind your RV and it should not be used for towing. Instead, I would recommend installing a universal RV trailer hitch like the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch, # 13703, if you are looking for a hitch for an RV. This hitch will fit frames 22 inches to 72 inches wide and it has a 3,500 lb towing capacity and a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. For a bumper mounted receiver, you can look at the Curt...

  • Swagman Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Use Behind an RV
The Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670 is a great rack, the only problem is that it is not designed to work at the back of an RV or trailer. The ride quality at the back of an RV is much rougher than the back of a passenger vehicle. Because of this only certain racks have been designed to work there. For a similar rack that would work at the back of an RV (and actually this comes with the # S64025) you would want the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack # S64663. This rack has been confirmed...

  • Capacity of Clamp-On RV Bumper 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver # S64025 with Anti-Rattle
The limiting factor is not the capacity of RV bumper hitch # S64025. The main issue is the capacity of the bumper. You will need to contact the RV manufacturer to find out the specifications for your bumper. Also, you will have to be certain you have the right bumper, as this hitch is designed exclusively for 4 inch by 4 inch continuous-welded steel bumpers. It will extend out from the original hitch pin hole an extra 3 inches. Hopefully, an extra 3 inches would not cause you any problems. • Altering/Reinforcing Rear Bumper of Nomad 23 Foot Travel Trailer for Receiver to Carry Bike Rack
The Swagman RV Bumper Receiver you mentioned, part # S64025 is designed for a 4 inch square continuously welded steel tube bumper. I couldn't say what you're bumper is constructed of, but you could easily determine if the bumper is steel by sticking a magnet on it. If the magnet sticks, the bumper is steel.
