Wiring a trailer usually means finding and tapping into factory wires, but this harness eliminates that step. The CURT T-Connector plugs directly into existing vehicle wiring to create a 4-pole flat trailer connector. No splicing or guessing—just plug it in for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights that work right away.
Factory circuits aren’t designed to handle trailer load on their own. This harness includes a built-in converter that draws power directly from the vehicle battery instead of the tail light circuits. That keeps the vehicle wiring safe from overload and ensures consistent lighting, even with additional trailer lights.
Since the harness uses independent power, one wire needs to be routed to the vehicle’s battery. It’s a straightforward task using the included lead and fuse holder. Running that power line up front takes a little extra time, but it’s worth it for long-term reliability and protection against circuit damage.
Once installed, the 4-flat plug sits neatly near the hitch, ready for any standard trailer connection. The molded connector and weatherproof cover keep moisture out and give a professional finish that looks like it came from the factory.
