The Single-Lid Series from UWS is a low-profile, crossover box with a single-lid opening for easy access. This multifunction utility box has a large lip that mounts on the truck bed rails, fitting snugly behind the cab. Two super-duty lift cylinders help to raise the insulated, beveled lid and hold it open to a full 90 degrees. This box also features two stainless steel paddle-lift handles in the front of the box on both sides, with a lock on the driver's side that securely protects your gear from the elements and from theft. Single-lid boxes are the more widely preferred style box because of their easily accessible openings, large capacity and convenient features.

Today, we're going to review part number UWS00091. This is the UWS Truck Bed Toolbox. This is the crossover style single lid series. This crossover saddle style toolbox will hang from the truck bed rails right behind the cab. It's built of an aluminum construction. It has fully welded seams which are guaranteed not to rust.
It does have two stainless steel paddle latches with the lock here on the driver's side. It comes with two keys. The other nice feature is on the inside of the box. It's probably hard to see, but when you lift up on the paddle latch, there is a rod that connects the two so you only have to lift a latch on either side that you'll be able to open the lid. Well, there's a connecting rod on the inside that goes from one latch to the other and they do put on a nice connecting rod enclosure which is the same material as the box is made of and it protects that connecting rod from being bent or jammed from any other contents that is inside the box.
Because the fact it got bent or jammed, it would keep you from opening the lid of your toolbox so you'll have a nice connecting rod enclosure on the inside. The lid is beveled lid so there are no edges to it. It does have a patented foam filled construction which will provide insulation and protection from the outdoor elements. It is also a structural foam which will reinforce the shape and the strength of the lid, so it allows you to close and open it pretty easily and it keeps its shape. One the inside of the lid, there is a dust or a foam gasket that runs the length and the width of it all the way around, and this gasket will help keep any of the dust or the outside elements from getting to whatever you got on the inside of the toolbox.
There are two heavy duty gas cylinders, one on each side. Those help lift the lid. As you can see here if I just let it go here, it will actually lift it by itself and it holds and open a full 90 degrees. The hinge which runs the full length of the lid is a piano hinge which will help keep the lid even when opening or closing. In the inside, there is a plastic sliding tray which can keep tools in.
It's got three divided compartments. It does also come with the J hook insulation hardware which is used to install it to the truck. This part is made in the USA. Let me give you a few dimensions on this. The overall length on this box, 60 inches. The width is 19 inches and the overall height is 13-1/2 inches. Once you close the lid, it will add an inch to those measurements if you need to figure out clearance with the lid on it. The inside capacity is 7.5 cubic feet of usable space. The aluminum construction is actually made of a 0.063 aluminum tread plate. It does come with a one-year warranty and is made in the USA. Right here is where it will sit on the bed rails of your truck. The toolbox will actually sit about 4 inches above your truck bed rails. That should do it for review on part number UWS00091.

Securing tool box was a challenge. The included “J” hooks did not secure box to the truck. Had to purchase alternative materials to secure tool box. Would not recommend this item

Really awesome box so far, fits my 2025 F150 perfect imo. The 69 inch width is ideal because it sits directly on the outside factory rail and stays nicely behind your cab - anything wider would be sticking out past your cab. It does feel like it could go deeper into the truck bed - it sits pretty high up but thats also good because it gives you a lot of bed space hence the crossover. The 4inch looks bad to the bone the slim boxes are ok but I dont like that look, plus the 4 inch (off the rails) gives you more space with an inch less of total depth. Anyway this is a great box for an F150. It came packed great with no damage.
