Question:
Hello I need a trailer hitch for my Dodge Journey 2017 Crossroad. I have an inflatable bounce house and water slide business. I need to be able to tow with a trailer and was wondering which one of your trailer hitch would do the job please? I also need to know what you mean by tongue capacity and towing capacity Im new at this so I have no idea what those are.

For your 2017 Dodge Journey Crossroad, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75648. This trailer hitch receiver is easy to install and can tow 4000 lbs with or without a weight distribution system. This means the trailer when completely loaded can weight up to 4,000 lbs. The tongue weight is that amount of weight that rests on the hitch ball, and this hitch is rated to have up to 400 lbs resting on that hitch ball.
I recommend using a weight distribution system like # RP66082 along with hitch ball # A-90 for a 2 inch diameter ball or # A-6 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball to match your trailer coupler. This weight distribution and sway control system will greatly assist you with the uneven weights of your inflatables that can cause trailer sway. This system will help your trailer track with your vehicle and allow you to tow safely. I've attached an article to assist.
If you don't have trailer wiring, I recommend the Curt # C56330 is you have LED taillights or # C56109 if you have bulb tail lights.
If you trailer has brakes, then you will also want to upgrade to a 7-way trailer connector and add a brake controller. For this upgrade, I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 and Brake Controller Wiring Kit # ETBC7.
