Heavy bikes are no problem here. With a 60 lb per-bike capacity, the Kuat NV 2.0 Base carries electric bikes, fat-tire rides, and carbon frames with confidence. The platform design keeps weight low for easy loading, and its aircraft-grade aluminum body stays solid while resisting rust thanks to the matte black powder-coat finish. Pair it with the optional Access Ramp #ANVBRB if you’d rather roll your e-bikes up instead of lifting them.
There’s no frame contact, so your paint and carbon stays safe. The ratcheting front-wheel hook locks each bike tight by the tire, and sliding rear-wheel straps adjust to fit any wheelbase up to 50 inches. Standard straps handle tires up to 3.0 inches wide, and the included extender strap lets you load one fat bike—add the Phat Bike Adapter #APBK for up to 5.0-inch tires. Everything cinches down smooth and releases with a quick-press buckle.

Grabbing gear from the back shouldn’t mean unloading your bikes. The spring-loaded foot pedal tilts the rack down even when it’s fully loaded, giving you open access in seconds. The same lever folds the rack upright when you’re done riding, keeping things compact and out of the way. No crawling or reaching around—the release is right where your foot lands.

Slide it into your 2-inch hitch, twist the built-in hand-tightening cam knob, and the internal anti-rattle wedge locks the rack tight—no tools, no shake. It comes with a locking hitch pin and integrated braided-steel cable locks, both keyed alike so one key secures everything. The solid one-piece shank and 3-1/2-inch rise keep clearance high and motion low mile after mile.

Start with two, expand when the crew joins in. The NV 2.0 Base accepts the 2-bike Add-On #BA02B, turning it into a four-bike setup in just a few minutes. Each position keeps the same stable 13-inch spacing, so handlebars and pedals stay out of each other’s way. It’s a clean, modular design built to grow with your rides.

Great! We bought this heavy duty rack in expectation that we were getting two e-bikes. We are still waiting on that. One thing to remember is the rack is heavy: over 50 lbs if I remember it correctly. It can take 2 min and a boy to install and remove, but darn sturdy. :-

This rack has traveled from MD, through TX, NM, AZ, UT, CO and back and it has held up so well. We did a ton of research and could not be happier with this rack or this company!

This product should not be left on the hitch all of the time. Leaving it on will cause excessive rust. Please view page 17 of the manufacturers User Guide under tips and tricks to see how to get the most life out of your bike rack: https:www.kuat.comwp-contentuploadsnv-2-user_guide.pdf

A year in and the rack continues to work great. Still rock solid while driving and has held up very well.

Please keep in mind that hauling bikes on the front of your truck can reduce driver visibility, air flow to the motor, and block your front lights, so you will want to use caution.

I absolutely love the bike rack! It stays rock solid stable when secured to the rack and does not move. Kuat could not have built a much better bike rack! Securing the bike is SUPER easy. I am so glad that we purchased two of them.
