Question:
I have a 2023 Toyota crown limited and desperately want a hitch for a regular bicycle. With this hitch and the bicycle mounted are there concerns of interference with the safety system, will it always be in alert mode, braking, etc? Will installation of the hitch invalidate any warrantee etc on the car? My location is Suffolk county NY is you would recommend the best installer.

Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. The Curt Class 3 Hitch # C77ZV is what I recommend for your 2023 Toyota Crown Limited. The hitch itself will not interfere with the safety systems and it will not invalidate any warranty.
With a bike rack installed, you may see some interference with the backup sensor. The sensor will detect the bike rack and it will think there is an object behind the car. You can just ignore the alert, or you can turn it off. You would have to turn it off each time you put the car in reverse with the bike rack installed. There may be a way to permanently disable the sensor, but you would need to check with Toyota for that.
If you are looking for a bike rack recommendation, take a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B. This is my go-to bike rack, and I have been using one myself for about 4 years now. It works great, it is easy to use, and it looks cool on the back of the car.
We have a few great hitch installers in your area. I recommend checking with AA Tire & Service in Farmingdale. I know they do good work and they do a TON of hitch installs. I have provided a link below that will show you our full list of installers. Just enter your zip code and you will see the full list of installers in your area. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
