Best 2017 Jeep Wrangler Tire Chains

Bought these chains for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition. I am running Goodyear Duratrac 255/75r17's which are the stock tire size. I clamped on the chains when I got them just to make sure they are in working order, checked the tire to frame clearance and really all clearances and everything seems to clear fine. I will not be rock crawling or doing any extreme articulation with the chains on. Solid set of chains and I am looking forward to trying them out in Colorado this year when we go elk hunting.

These days we mostly rely on Amazon for online shopping - however, I am thrilled to have decided to purchase directly through etrailer for the following reasons: 1) Confidence - There's shwarmy re-selling on Amazon, where I felt confident I was going to get what I asked for from etrailer (and I did!). 2) Speed - Again, not quite 2 days guaranteed (which those of us with Prime have become accustomed to), but my two sets of chains only took maybe an extra day. 3) Process - etrailer provided easy-to-follow email updates on the order, shipping, delivery, and follow-up. Given how heavy-duty these chains are, and my infrequency of use, I suspect I'll be good for a long time. But when the time comes, I'll gladly purchase directly through etrailer again. Ps. DEFINITELY practice getting these on once before you need them. It just takes one attempt to recognize how easy they are to equip/take off, but never hurts.

Good little set of light chains. I use them on my Jeep Wrangler, only in very icy / snowy conditions in BC Mountains. I can now put them on in under 5 minutes, less for taking them off. Have kept up pretty well it seems after a year of use (probably 20+ times on/off). Would recommend.

My chains arrived yesterday. After unpacking them, I was impressed by the good looking and functional case they come in. I viewed the instruction video twice, and feel confident that my first real use will be easy. I am heading over the mountains of British Columbia this upcoming weekend, and have every expectation for our typical high-altitude winter conditions. I feel sure that my trusty F-450's slightly worn dually's drive tires will take almost anything in stride . . . (at 30 MPH ;-)

Correct fit as ordered for oversized SUV wheels & tires for 1991 Bronco. Appreciate the color coding for easy installation.

These chains are good quality and easy to install. I expect to deal with more icy road conditions than deep snow, and I think they ride smother and will cause less wear on my tires than the old-style heavy chains.

The product was as expected. They were easy to install in the comfort of my garage and fit nicely. Chains were not required on my recent trip, but the peace of mind having them was great. Don't forget to order tensioners.

Seem to fit well, used on a defender 110 with 255/60/R20. Plenty of adjustment range.

Excellent chains on 2005 GMC Sierra. Cam Locks are good but you really need to use a tire bungee or equivalent to pull the chains tighter. I use wire ties for the extra length of chain on the inside and outside firewall. Turns the truck into a total snow beast, I have yet to get stuck and have never used the winch I bought for that purpose.

Quality made product right out of the package. I haven't had a chance to use them but being a welder/fabricator I can see the quality in the work done on these. Looking forward to slapping these bad boys on and tearing up the snow and ice!

I received the chains on the day that was projected. I installed them om on my truck and they fit. The installation was relatively easy (in my garage). My only recommendation is to make the storage bag bigger. It was difficult to get them out of the bag and even more difficult to put them back in. I have not used them as of yet, so I cannot comment on their effectiveness.

I ordered 2 sets (4 chains total) of these tire chains for my V10 F250, which I use to plow a private dirt driveway on the north side of a mountain in rural Pennsylvania. It's two miles (actual odometer reading) uphill to the paved road from my house. Most years, along about February, the road ices up (because no sun and midatlantic sleet issues) and plowing becomes quite challenging. I figured getting tire chains might help the traction-on-ice problem. I plow the road between 10 and 15 mph, with the truck in 4wd. Since buying the chains I have run the truck up and back the road approximately twenty times with the chains on, plowing from 4 to 8 inches of snow, conducting rollbacks of shoulder, chopping up slush, etc. I have also used the truck (with chains) to pull out two other stuck vehicles that had run into ditches. At this point I feel like I can review the product because I've used 'em enough to have an opinion. 1. These tire chains add a lot of traction on ice. A lot. Enough to plow with and enough to pull out stuck vehicles while the "tow" vehicle is sitting on ice. 2. The chains look fine and are undamaged at this juncture. Since I've used them consistently with how I expect them to be used and they are fine, I'm happy with quality at this point. 3. Maybe I will improve with practice, but it's about thirty minutes of twinking around to get these straightened out, on the truck, tightened up, bungee'd, etc. in a way that I feel OK about driving with them. (That's why 4 stars instead of 5.) Once they're on, they seem to stay put fairly effectively. I do not drive on paved roads with these chains nor do I drive faster than (max) 20 mph so I can't speak to how they might do under those circumstances. I use them for additional traction for my plow truck while plowing my iced-up dirt road... and for that, they work as advertised.

These tire chains for my 2017 GMC 2500 (20” wheels) perfectly. They did great in the snow and allowed me to pull an enclosed trailer to my cabin, which I couldn’t have done without these chains on my truck. Thanks etrailer for the fitment video specific to my truck! Very helpful

I bought the TC2228CAM tire chains because etrailer has a size chart which actually includes the tire size I bought for, but I was really happy and surprised to see how well they are constructed. I haven't installed them yet but feel confident they will work just fine. 2001 4runner Tire: 265/70r/16

I have only unpacked the chains and have not mounted them yet. But after inspecting the chains one of the cross chains is twisted as some others have reviewed the same problem. I bought these for a 04 Jeep Wrangler with 315/75R16's. With this I am skeptical of their quality. I will most likely attempt to cut out a link and straighten them myself as opposed to returning. Time will tell of their quality and/or durability.

I've used Titan cam style v bar chains in the past and am purchasing the again. That's probably enough said about the product. I actually don't ever plan on using these chains. I live in California, drive an f150 4x4, but am requried by law to carry chains when chain restrictions are in place. We all know that before Caltrans/CHP require that 4x4's with MS or AT tires chain up, they will just close the roads. Great service and prompt delivery. Thank you!

Just received my chains yesterday. I have to say, first of, customer service is EXCELLENT! I had questions on which chains were best for my SUV and I was promptly responded with suggestions and links to videos. I went with these tire cables for my 2015 Dodge Durango SXT Plus. There was question about clearance issues with brake lines on the Durango and these seem to be very low profile and made for lower clearance. The price was right too. I did a dry install today and it was a breeze. Took way longer to fold these back up and put back into the storage bag! Lol! (That's not these chains fault, it's user error...) I took some pictures but note it was my first time installing tire cables so I'm going to have to center them a bit more. I purchased the Titan chain multi arm rubber chain adjusters and they did make a difference on how snug the cables fit, so I would recommend them. We only plan on using them on very rare occasions when we venture up the mountain, so in sure if you live where it snows all the time, you will probably look at higher prices chains, but I think these are perfect for the occasional use. I will update after our Big Bear trip if we use them to reflect actual use. Thank you etrailer, they also upgraded my shipping to get here a couple days earlier just because... that was amazing!

Arrived as scheduled. Packaged well. I did a test install, and all seems good. Seems like a quality product. Installed on my Ram Promaster 3500 Class B van.

I received my order on the 2nd day. great response time. haven't open it yet, winter is a little ways off so i won't Know my satisfaction or dislike till that time comes I plan on this weekend to put both, the blind spot mirrors, and my boat mirror on. I live in Florida so I will know about the boat mirror soon. I bought a little Jeep wrangler for my son who lives in upstate NY (Adirondack mts.) . he owns a restaurant up there and when it snows they charge him a pretty penny to plow it.so I got to get the jeep up there, buy and install a plow for it and walla! thank you for your concern! i'll let you know how it all shakes out.

No snow yet but the practice installation went great! So simple my 6 year-old helped make sure I was following the instructions properly. Time will tell if I need them and how they work in the upcoming North Idaho snow plowing season. Fit great on my 275/70R18 tires. I appreciate the carrying case they came with, also!

the chains that Gwendolyn sent me fit perfectly. And, they arrived in time to take them on a 2,900mile trip. As it turned out, I didn't have to use them, as the weather let up, and got through the Rockies and the Cascades with no need for chains. Better to have them and not use them, than need them and not have them.

They keep me on the road as much as is reasonable to expect. They are grippier that other chains I’ve used, but also seem to be more finicky to tighten and tore up my mud guards with the v-bars. Using them on a 98 rav4, 2wd. I would probably get something different for my specific vehicle if I had to go back, but these really do grab the road when you need it!

Used them all last winter to access job sites well off the main roads. Chains are a must most days even with 4wd and with caution my 2wd work truck never got stuck.

1/15/2024 I couldn’t go up my property, so on 1/17 I ordered this chain with the TCMA2 Rubber chain hook. On 1/22 I tried it was a beautiful climb, and decent, my driveway has a 17 degree slope. I try again next day with a glance of ice, NO Problem! A year later, same success! Love to have the right tool.

2017 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins. These chains were easy to install and fit solidly. They do not have the cam system so you will need bungee cords. I set up 2 rubber bungees per tire and added a hook in the middle. Works perfect. They fit my 285/65/20s with room to spare. I have not used these in the field yet but I grew up using tires chains and these are no different.

I haven’t needed to use them, but I did do a test fit and they seem very well made. I really like the twist lock tightened as well.

Finally found the time to do a dry fit. The chains appear to fit well. These chains are for a 3/4 ton diesel truck. I'm a little concerned about some of the perimeter chain links on the outside face of the chain installation. These are used to set the final tension of the chain. There are several that are not welded. Not sure how strong the steel is for those links, but am concerned that under load, the links could open up in some situations releasing the tensioning. Must not be a problem due to other good reviews, but I will have to keep an eye on those links if I ever put those chains into service.

So easy (for tire chains)! I got 2 sets and am unstoppable (so far). The advice I get from etrailer is always super helpful. Great place and product.
