Bought these chains for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition. I am running Goodyear Duratrac 255/75r17's which are the stock tire size. I clamped on the chains when I got them just to make sure they are in working order, checked the tire to frame clearance and really all clearances and everything seems to clear fine. I will not be rock crawling or doing any extreme articulation with the chains on. Solid set of chains and I am looking forward to trying them out in Colorado this year when we go elk hunting.

These days we mostly rely on Amazon for online shopping - however, I am thrilled to have decided to purchase directly through etrailer for the following reasons: 1) Confidence - There's shwarmy re-selling on Amazon, where I felt confident I was going to get what I asked for from etrailer (and I did!). 2) Speed - Again, not quite 2 days guaranteed (which those of us with Prime have become accustomed to), but my two sets of chains only took maybe an extra day. 3) Process - etrailer provided easy-to-follow email updates on the order, shipping, delivery, and follow-up. Given how heavy-duty these chains are, and my infrequency of use, I suspect I'll be good for a long time. But when the time comes, I'll gladly purchase directly through etrailer again. Ps. DEFINITELY practice getting these on once before you need them. It just takes one attempt to recognize how easy they are to equip/take off, but never hurts.

Good little set of light chains. I use them on my Jeep Wrangler, only in very icy / snowy conditions in BC Mountains. I can now put them on in under 5 minutes, less for taking them off. Have kept up pretty well it seems after a year of use (probably 20+ times on/off). Would recommend.

My chains arrived yesterday. After unpacking them, I was impressed by the good looking and functional case they come in. I viewed the instruction video twice, and feel confident that my first real use will be easy. I am heading over the mountains of British Columbia this upcoming weekend, and have every expectation for our typical high-altitude winter conditions. I feel sure that my trusty F-450's slightly worn dually's drive tires will take almost anything in stride . . . (at 30 MPH ;-)

Correct fit as ordered for oversized SUV wheels & tires for 1991 Bronco. Appreciate the color coding for easy installation.

Seem to fit well, used on a defender 110 with 255/60/R20. Plenty of adjustment range.

Excellent chains on 2005 GMC Sierra. Cam Locks are good but you really need to use a tire bungee or equivalent to pull the chains tighter. I use wire ties for the extra length of chain on the inside and outside firewall. Turns the truck into a total snow beast, I have yet to get stuck and have never used the winch I bought for that purpose.

I ordered 2 sets (4 chains total) of these tire chains for my V10 F250, which I use to plow a private dirt driveway on the north side of a mountain in rural Pennsylvania. It's two miles (actual odometer reading) uphill to the paved road from my house. Most years, along about February, the road ices up (because no sun and midatlantic sleet issues) and plowing becomes quite challenging. I figured getting tire chains might help the traction-on-ice problem. I plow the road between 10 and 15 mph, with the truck in 4wd. Since buying the chains I have run the truck up and back the road approximately twenty times with the chains on, plowing from 4 to 8 inches of snow, conducting rollbacks of shoulder, chopping up slush, etc. I have also used the truck (with chains) to pull out two other stuck vehicles that had run into ditches. At this point I feel like I can review the product because I've used 'em enough to have an opinion. 1. These tire chains add a lot of traction on ice. A lot. Enough to plow with and enough to pull out stuck vehicles while the "tow" vehicle is sitting on ice. 2. The chains look fine and are undamaged at this juncture. Since I've used them consistently with how I expect them to be used and they are fine, I'm happy with quality at this point. 3. Maybe I will improve with practice, but it's about thirty minutes of twinking around to get these straightened out, on the truck, tightened up, bungee'd, etc. in a way that I feel OK about driving with them. (That's why 4 stars instead of 5.) Once they're on, they seem to stay put fairly effectively. I do not drive on paved roads with these chains nor do I drive faster than (max) 20 mph so I can't speak to how they might do under those circumstances. I use them for additional traction for my plow truck while plowing my iced-up dirt road... and for that, they work as advertised.

These tire chains for my 2017 GMC 2500 (20” wheels) perfectly. They did great in the snow and allowed me to pull an enclosed trailer to my cabin, which I couldn’t have done without these chains on my truck. Thanks etrailer for the fitment video specific to my truck! Very helpful

I bought the TC2228CAM tire chains because etrailer has a size chart which actually includes the tire size I bought for, but I was really happy and surprised to see how well they are constructed. I haven't installed them yet but feel confident they will work just fine. 2001 4runner Tire: 265/70r/16

I have only unpacked the chains and have not mounted them yet. But after inspecting the chains one of the cross chains is twisted as some others have reviewed the same problem. I bought these for a 04 Jeep Wrangler with 315/75R16's. With this I am skeptical of their quality. I will most likely attempt to cut out a link and straighten them myself as opposed to returning. Time will tell of their quality and/or durability.

I've used Titan cam style v bar chains in the past and am purchasing the again. That's probably enough said about the product. I received my order on the 2nd day. great response time. haven't open it yet, winter is a little ways off so i won't Know my satisfaction or dislike till that time comes I plan on this weekend to put both, the blind spot mirrors, and my boat mirror on. I live in Florida so I will know about the boat mirror soon. I bought a little Jeep wrangler for my son who lives in upstate NY (Adirondack mts.) . he owns a restaurant up there and when it snows they charge him a pretty penny to plow it.so I got to get the jeep up there, buy and install a plow for it and walla! thank you for your concern! i'll let you know how it all shakes out.

No snow yet but the practice installation went great! So simple my 6 year-old helped make sure I was following the instructions properly. Time will tell if I need them and how they work in the upcoming North Idaho snow plowing season. Fit great on my 275/70R18 tires. I appreciate the carrying case they came with, also!

the chains that Gwendolyn sent me fit perfectly. And, they arrived in time to take them on a 2,900mile trip. As it turned out, I didn't have to use them, as the weather let up, and got through the Rockies and the Cascades with no need for chains. Better to have them and not use them, than need them and not have them.

2017 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins. These chains were easy to install and fit solidly. They do not have the cam system so you will need bungee cords. I set up 2 rubber bungees per tire and added a hook in the middle. Works perfect. They fit my 285/65/20s with room to spare. I have not used these in the field yet but I grew up using tires chains and these are no different.

I haven’t needed to use them, but I did do a test fit and they seem very well made. I really like the twist lock tightened as well.

Finally found the time to do a dry fit. The chains appear to fit well. These chains are for a 3/4 ton diesel truck. I'm a little concerned about some of the perimeter chain links on the outside face of the chain installation. These are used to set the final tension of the chain. There are several that are not welded. Not sure how strong the steel is for those links, but am concerned that under load, the links could open up in some situations releasing the tensioning. Must not be a problem due to other good reviews, but I will have to keep an eye on those links if I ever put those chains into service.

So easy (for tire chains)! I got 2 sets and am unstoppable (so far). The advice I get from etrailer is always super helpful. Great place and product.

A good choice for our new 2025 Highlander Hybrid XLE with 18" tires. Have occasional winter mountain snow needs, and like the easier install Chains came somewhat tangled, needing some patience to straighen our the first time. Expect less issue repacking them in the good carry case. A practice install highly recommended, as these are NOT the standard chains I had been used to. Seemed to install fairly tight first time. Just need some snow now. Happy with my choice so far. L

Pewag PWE2228SC chains are nothing fancy. Good old traditional design. Came in a canvas bag with no closure. Successfully mounted them on P165/70R17 tires. Have not tested them in real-life snowy conditions. After chains are on, should drive vehicle 1/4 to 1/2 tire revolution, then tighten chain hooks further. Adding additional tension cords almost a must. Picture shows chain loosening at 6 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions after driving only a few feet. Consider adding threaded chain link to tie down extra free links to prevent them from flopping around when driving. Flopping chains are know to cut brake and ABS lines and cause other damage to the vehicle, especially if chains are installed on front tires. Thule XG12 Pro may be a better choice for front tires, because nothing flops around on the medial side of chains.

Purchased for 2016 Sprinter 4WD 140. Very pleased. Works well here in Pacific NW snow and ice. Heavy chain, but installs easy enough. Will need designated storage space. Great service and delivery.

I live in Buffalo NU. We get some snow! My company work van absstinks in the snow even with extra weight and snow tires. I got stuck in a very long driveway and had to break out the chains. Tons of snow & wind blowing. Still was not much difficulty popping then on. Got out of my situation with ease!! Highly recommend these!

Jessica was very helpful selecting which chains to purchase. They fit well, the price was very competitive and arrived quickly. I had to deliver some material to a mountain location and needed to go down a couple of steep inclines. I put chains on all four tires of my truck and one axle on the trailer. I didn't have any slipping or sliding on an icy snow-packed road.

Came in a nice holder and was bought as insurance. May I never need to open the bag!
