Question:
Thanks for your prompt response! I realize I made an error in putting the tire size: it should be 255/75R17. Sorry about that. So, based on the correct tire size, the manual does not seem to require "S" chains for that size. I clipped the following from the owner's manual: P225/75R16 or a P235/65R17 tire with the use of a traction device that meets the SAE type "Class S" specification is recommended. Could you please confirm and again, I would be interested in your recommendations for chains (now that you have the correct info on tire size!)

According to the owner's manual for your 2017 Jeep Wrangler, tire chains can only be installed on the rear two wheels and must be Class S compliant. You will want to review page 420 in your owner's manual for further specifications while using tire chains.
The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2526 and the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC2828CAM are both good traction devices. However, neither are Class S compliant. Therefore, for the icy North Carolina mountains you will be passing through, I recommend using the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2323.
These tire chains will work well with your 225/75-R17 tires and are also Class S compliant. I have attached a review video of them for you.
