When you’re not towing, you don’t want hardware hanging off the front. This crossbar-style base plate kit keeps things clean with brackets that sit far back for a nearly invisible look. Once the removable drawbars are out, the only parts left are tucked inside the grille, protected from scrapes and scuffs. It keeps the front end looking stock and free of sharp edges that catch knees when walking by.
Each arm slides into place, clicks to lock, and stays solid until you pull and twist to release it. Built-in pull rings make disconnecting easy without tools or pins to lose. That twist-lock setup turns hook-up into a simple two-step job, even if you’re doing it on your own at the campsite or driveway.
Computer-cut, all-steel brackets bolt directly to the frame, spreading towing loads evenly through heavy-duty welds. The black powder coat finish fights corrosion and road grime so the setup stays strong through long hauls and changing weather. It’s designed for durability that holds up after years of use and thousands of miles of towing.
Everything bolts up—no welding required—and the kit comes with hardware and instructions for a straightforward install. Integrated mounting points let you add an electrical connector plug or bracket (sold separately) so your wiring stays tidy and protected. Once in place, it works seamlessly with Roadmaster tow bars that use a quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00, sold separately).

It looked like it was going to easy to install but the base plate holes didn't match up with the auto holes. I had to do a lot of enlarging of holes. Once it was installed I had a lot of trouble putting the car back together.
Great product that fit the front of the 2008 Honda CRV perfectly. etrailer is the best to work with! Very client oriented! Highly recommend them as a vendor!
Shipping and delivery was very fast. I had to enlarge a few of the holes on the brackets because they did not line up to the holes on the front of my 2007 CRV. That was the only thing that did not go smoothly. It was not a big deal, just took a little extra time to enlarge the holes with a Dremel tool. Other than that, great product.
Took my time installing this and the instructions were very helpful.
I viewed the YouTube video, made notes, gained confidence and felt prepared.
Everything went well and the hardest part of the process was replacing the plastic fasteners in the fender well and the screws at the bottom of the fender.

The instructions were good and the passenger side of the base plate fit perfectly, but the driver's side did not. Had to 'drill out' the holes on the top and the inside, because the pre drilled holes we off about 1/8 inch. This misfit resulted in a lot longer to complete the project.
Base plate was complete with all needed parts, instructions were complete and easy to follow. The tow bar works great, and can hardly be seen , when not used. Would buy another if ever needed.
Instructions were very good for the installation on my 2010 Honda CRV. Fit and finish were good. Product arrived as promised. Minimal tools were needed, but installation with the vehicle on the garage concrete floor was probably a little more tedious than that on a lift. I would say that you do need some mechanical talents to do this on your own.
This backing plate for my CRV was exactly as described and the instructions were well laid out and clear. The job went smoothly without a hitch. Great product.

Excellent product, fit perfectly. The instructions were "on the money." It was obvious that the towbar baseplate was custom made for this car. Everything slid right into place without having to "man handle" any of it.
I couldn't be happier with my Roadmaster. The ease of hooking up and disconnecting, the sturdiness of the device. We are 3/4 timers in the RV and notice NO wear and tear. Fantastic! Worth every penny!
Manufacturer sent the tow bar quick disconnects w/o the backing plates and bolting materials. After contacting etrailer customer service, they jumped on it and quickly got the missing pieces shipped. This was not etrailer's oversight but they got it resolved promptly. Thanks etrailer!!
This hitch installed on our 2007 CRV easily and has worked great over the past year. Installation was completed by myself with no other hands. I did block up one side of the hitch with wood to the approximate height to aid in mounting the other side. Vehicle back end was raised via car ramps. All mounting holes lined up fine. The associated brake & tail light wiring kit made wiring easy as well.
I purchased this hitch to go on my 2009 Honda crv, I found a video on youtube that showed how to mount it. I took my time but still had it mounted in 2 hours. I also like that I can remove the receiver very easily when I am at home or on the road. This is much better than having a dolly that you have to move around by hand. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to pull their toad all wheels down.
Installed this base plate on my 2007 CR-V today. Instructions were clear and very helpful. Had to drill out two holes through frame to install longer bolts. Only caution here is when trying to torque these two bolts , the hollow frame channel will begin to deform before torque spec is reached. Hope the Loctite holds!
Having a video to show you how to install it was great. Went on with no problems and have been using it with no problem so far.
Purchased a Stowmaster baseplate for my 2009 Honda CRV. The quality construction and welding on this base plate is superior! The engineering was excellent and the assembly fit perfectly! The installation instructions were very detailed and the color photos made the project easy and straight-forward!
Installation took about 2 hours but was not difficult.
