Will this tow bar fit into the 1559-1 base plate?

The discontinued Roadmaster # 5250 tow bar is compatible with EZ4 style base plates like the # RM-521559-4.
In addition to the tow bar and base plates, you will also need safety cables, a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system (required by law in most states).
If you prefer a coiled safety cable, the # RM-643 is a good choice. For a straight cable, I would recommend # RM-645.
If you do not already have your CR-V wired, the Roadmaster Bulb and Socket Kit, part # RM-155 is what I typically recommend. The install is straightforward, drill a 9/16 inch hole in the rear of each tail light assembly and run the wires. The Bulb and Socket kit will remain completely independent of the CR-V wiring and will not interfere with a braking system. You will need an umbilical between the RV and the CR-V. If your RV does not already have a trailer connector, use # BX8861. If your RV has a 7-way connector, you can use # BX88254.
The Roadmaster Even Brake, part # RM-9400 is the easiest to use and install.
The 2009 CR-V is capable of being flat towed without modification, but I would recommend checking the owners manual for the recreational/emergency towing procedures.
