The drawbars, or front arms, on the crossbar-style series base plate kit are easy to mount and remove. Once removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, brackets are mounted within the grille for protection from scrapes and scuffs.

Installation was straight forward. Online video was a great addition to the included instructions. Brackets have worked well and are easy to set up for towing
The base plate fit fitment is great. However, due to 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit manufacturing tolerances, there was a little shimming required on driver side radiator support bolt up on my installation (1/8" flat washer was used). Other then that, installation was a breeze.
Product installed easily hardest part was finding drill sharp enough to drill holes. Took about 4 hrs at a 75 year olds pace.
Looks nice and fit my existing tow bar with no problems. You may want to remind buyers they need a plastic pop rivet tool, not easy to find in local auto stores. I took advantage of my friend who owns a body shop, it took 2 minutes.

Still towing my car works great. Very satisfied only problem I had was my wife panicked when she saw front of car on lawn while I installed brackets.

Since the base plate install we have towed our Jeep to California and back without any issues. Good quality and easy to use.
One year ago I purchased the equipment to tow my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 flat behind my motorhome from etrailer. I received the items within 4 days, and was able to do the install myself thanks to the fantastic instructional videos provided by etrailer.
I have towed it from Iowa to Colorado, and several shorter trips. It is easy to
hook up/unhook and tows fantastic. I went with the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar as well as the roadmaster crossbar with removable arms. I would HIGHLY recommend this setup! I also put the roadmaster diode wiring set in the Jeep to use the tail lights. Works flawless! I have used etrailer for several items and have always been completely satisfied. Preston was super helpful in helping me choose the best equipment for my application! Can't go wrong with etrailer!
This is an nice unit and the instruction included were spot on. It is very scary to rip the front end of your toad off to install a tow kit. But, nothing went wrong and the parts are great. Should be easy to remove and install when needed.
One improvement would be a better way to cut out the two grill parts for the tow extensions. I finally toss the originals and left open holes. It looks find. And bought new closures for the time that I decide to change the rig. If Road Master had produced a templant, I might have had something that I would have used. as it was, I screwed up the closure too much to use.

they work great. I changed to a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had the dealer switch over. Still work perfectly. Using them again in Oct.
I ordered this base plate to be installed on our 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to allow it to be used with a Roadmaster Tow Bar that we purchased originally in early 2000 to tow our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Yes, 20 years later we are back into RVing and wanted to tow our 2020 Jeep behind our new Jayco Seneca Super-C motorhome. The only difference between 2000 and 2020 is the fact that we needed a brake activation system for our 2020 setup, something that wasn’t required in 2000. etrailer also sold us the Roadmaster Invisi Brake operating system which we had our local welding fabricator (also RV hitch installation expert) instal. Everything works perfectly and safely. Thank you etrailer!

Excellent! We have towed the Grand Cherokee with it for over 17,000 miles since installation, with no operational issues. From NW MT to west coast of WA, to Rockport, TX, to Duluth, MN and back in three separate trips.

The Base Plates are performing as expected, unfortunately chipping paint has plagued these Base Plates. This chipping paint has occurred along both of the leading edge of where the tow bar mounts. This has not been caused from abuse/misuse, it started happening soon after began using. Should not have happened so soon.
This was my 4th install for a dingy (with 4 wheel flat towing) in the last 20 years. This install is for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Overland. The New ROADmaster 90* twist & lock removable base plates are REALY Awesome! So much much easier & faster than installing & removing locking pins! One picture shows a Brush guard from ROADmaster no longer available.
