Recommended Tow Bar and Other Parts to Flat Tow a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

The tow bar I recommend is the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520. It's one of our most popular tow bars and you can't go wrong with it. It self aligns as you drive forward in your RV. It's also compatible with all Roadmaster base plate kits.

The base plate kit I suggest is the Roadmaster EZ4 # RM-521440-4. It's designed specifically for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The arms are removable so they're not as noticeable as other kits can be.

To power the Jeep's lights I suggest the diode kit # RM-15267. This will use the vehicle's tail lights by connecting to the RV's and includes the cord to go between the two. To keep the Jeep's brake lights from overriding the RV's you'll need a Brake-Lite Relay # RM-88400.

For a supplemental braking system the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is a favorite around here because of how reliable it is and it's easier to install than many other permanently installed systems. Your Jeep's brake lights do not illuminate when the ignition is off which means you'll also need a Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751449. This will activate the RV's brake-monitoring system when the Jeep's brake pedal is activated.

Finally, you'll likely need a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop your setup requires. I've also linked our selection of adapters for you to look at once you know what you need.

Hi, I'm looking to change our set up to a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for Dinghy towing. GC has Quadra trac 2 and the factory class IV towing pkg. RV is Class A gas Ford V10 2017 Bounder 35K. I have our 4yr old Roadmaster All terrain tow bar ,safety cables, electric 7pin to 6pin cord from our Equinox towing setup. Please advise what I will need. Thanks

You may also need a drop hitch like part # BLU48CR to compensate for any height differences between the baseplate arms and the hitch on your RV.

@JesseM , thanks. Yes, JeepGC has Park Sense. RM47ZR not RM152 , right? Also I saw ..."Brake light relay (RM-88400 sold separately) may be required if used with supplemental braking system" Can I please get an estimate of your recommend parts, I have drop hitch & RM Falcon All Terrain non binding. Thx!

@Rodger Yes, you will need the # RM47ZR instead of the # RM-152. A brake light relay will not be needed for the Demco braking system I recommended. Our pricing does sometimes fluctuate, so if you just add each part to your cart it will show you the current total price for all 4 items you will need.
