Question:

Have the Stowmaster 5000 base dimensions changed from year 2000 to 2020? I have a Stowmaster 5000, serial no. 110611, that I purchased in 2000 and only used for 3-years to tow my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited behind my motor home. I sold the motor home in 2004 and removed and stored all of the Stowmaster 5000 equipment from the Jeep with the exception of the base plates. The tow bar, safety chains, electrical connection, stow bags and tow bar cover have not seen the light of day until this year. Everything is in excellent shape, and I want to purchase new mounting bracket/base plates to enable me to have them installed on my new 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Which I will tow behind my new diesel motor home with 10,000-lb towing capacity. Before I order the base plates from you I want to be assured that the dimension between the ends of the tow bar has not been changed. I would love to use this great Stowmaster 5000 again. I was told by a person I contacted with Roadmaster that the new Base Plate kit for the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited non Trailhawk or RT is kit No. 521440-4. I have purchased parts from you folks in the past and trust your judgement.

The Roadmaster StowMaster 5000 to the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 6,000 lbs # RM-501 base plate connection dimensions have not changed. The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521440-4 is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited as you stated and will work very well with your older StowMaster tow bar.
