Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this caliper rebuild kit for the 10,000 pound and 12,000 pound Dexter disc brakes. Now this repair kit will let you rebuild the brake caliper on your 10,000 pound or 12,000 pound disc brake axles. It is designed to work with the Dexter disc brakes produced after January of 1988. It does include everything laid out here on the table, the two piston seals right here, the two piston dust boots, the four O-rings, and the bleeder screw.Now the piston seals, these are for 2 1/2 inch diameter pistons on the brake caliper. These will ensure that your brake fluid doesn't leak out of the caliper.
The dust boots right here, these are also for 2 1/2 inch diameter pistons on the brake caliper. They'll help guard against debris and contamination from getting into your piston. And then the four O-rings, they're designed to go onto your brake caliper guide bolts, two for each bolt, and then the bleeder screw, this allows for removal of oxygen from your caliper and prevents fluid leakage. These parts are made in the USA, but that should do it for the review on the caliper rebuild kit for the 10,000 pound and 12,000 pound Dexter disc brakes.

To do this you would want to put an old brake pad between the c-clamp and the piston to distribute the force evenly. Make sure the piston is being compressed straight into the caliper.
