Question:
I have a 2011 Ford Edge Sport and what to install the Roadmaster EZ base plate #524426-1 used with the Adaptive Cruise Control systems BUT I do NOT have that on my car. Everything that I see said I have to use Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms for 2011 Ford Edge But I would like the Twist Lock Attachment. I can order the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms for 2011 Ford Edge non-EcoBoost - without Adaptive Cruise Control and have the Twist Lock Attachment. The Blue Ox comes out a lot higher on the front where the Roadmaster comes out a lot lower???? Will the EZ work when it calls for the XL base plate. I have the XL system on my 98 Honda Accord and I dont like it to hard to pin, plus I have the Roadmaster Guardian Rock Shield $450 so I want to stay with Roadmaster. Any help on this would be great.

The Roadmaster EZ base plates # 524426-1 and the XL model, # 4408-1, use different receivers, which is that main crossbar the arms attach to. They are nearly identical but since the EZ model has not been tested or confirmed to fit your 2011 Ford Edge I cannot recommend it.
The access to the pins for the XL base plates is different on every vehicle. You may find that they are easier to access on your Edge than on your Accord. I have linked a video showing installation of the XL base plates.
