When you’re not towing, you don’t want bulky hardware showing up front. The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit tucks its brackets inside the grille area, leaving only the removable drawbars visible. Pop them out by pulling two hitch pins, and the remaining brackets are practically invisible. It keeps the front end clean and safe from scrapes or bumps when parked or driving around town.
Flat towing puts a lot of stress on the connection points, and this setup handles it with ease. Each mount is computer-cut from solid steel for precise fit and strength. The black powder coat finish fights off corrosion and road wear, so you can trust it to stay solid through miles of towing. It’s a durable system that reinforces the front frame without requiring any welding during install.
Hooking up takes just a couple of pins—no complicated alignment or extra tools needed. The square drawbars slide into 1-1/2" receivers on the base plate and secure with standard hitch pins for a snug, reliable fit every time. Once locked in, your tow bar attaches through a quick-disconnect crossbar (part #910021-00, sold separately), keeping the whole system tight and ready for travel.
You don’t have to be a pro to get this mounted right. The kit comes with instructions and all necessary mounting hardware for a straightforward bolt-on installation—no welding required. If you need fish wire bolt leaders (part #C58390), they’re sold separately to complete the setup. It’s a practical project for a weekend garage session that ends with a tow-ready vehicle and no extra fabrication needed.

I recommend taking a look at the video installation that we have on a 2004 Chevy Tracker.

Solid construction, decent instructions. Can't give the Excellent rating because my 2-day shipping took 5 days. Work on the way your website displays shipping/tracking details guys. If its not actually shipped and waiting to be picked up, then don't say that it shipped.

Arrived from the US very quickly and I was able to install it on Saturday Morning and am going to use it on Wednesday when I go to pick up my new (to me) camper.I had to remove the bumper to detach mu old tow bar hardware which was in the way but that made the install that much easier.
Difficult fitting brackets because of other items on vehicle but no drilling required and it fit perfectly.
Highly recommend the base plate for ease of connection to and disassembly from the tow bar.

Aligment with the Roadmaster Crosbar is slightly off, requiring a bit of muscle and manipulation to attach it. However, once assembled on the car it is rock solid and near bullet proof. Tow anywhere!
Item arrived very quickly. It appears to be of excellent quality. The salesman that helped me was very good and had very good knowledge of the product. The installation instructions were a bit vague, but I was able to figure them out. The price of the item was a bit higher than I was expecting.
Product was well made and works as intended. However, the instructions could have been a little clearer and had to elongate a hole on the passengers side to get the pin to slide through and had to cut some off of a backing plate so it would fit around the brake line. Just a little inconvenience not a big deal.
well to tell you the truth i never mounted them cause car wouldn't pas inspection i now have a jeep liberty 2005 that i would like to get base plates for maybe trade the set i have now that are new still in box

We have been towing our 2003 Chevrolet Tracker for over 2 years. About 5000 miles. The Base Plate that we purchased from Roadmaster two years ago, has served us well. Ten years ago we had a 2007 Impreza that we put a Roadmaster Tow Base on and it served us well. Not to mention how easy they were to install. All necessary hardware and instructions were included. We towed that Impreza from California to Maine twice. I highly recommend the Roadmaster Tow Base Plates to anyone who wants to flat Tow their car.
Easy to install and instructions are good.
