This coupler pin lock ensures that your trailer is securely hitched and helps keep it safe from theft while being stored. With this lock, you won't have to carry an additional key - it codes to your vehicle's ignition key.

Note: BOLT locks permanently code to only 1 vehicle. They cannot be re-coded or re-keyed.
Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Works great, no extra key to find
It’s really great to use devices that are keyed to your vehicle
It works as expected and the best part it does work with my truck's key. I have a 2015 Silverado 2500HD.
Excellent concept, and a great, solid product to accomplish it.
Best lock I have found, like the keyed to the truck ignition key
Product worked great! Customized to my GMC truck key with no issues!
Works great! Does exactly what it is supposed to do and is set to use the vehicle back up key.
Worked as advertised. Plenty long enough for all hitches.
works good, used for my pop up camper
I still have my trailer so this must be working or they are to lazy to cut it.
Works perfectly even after a year of weather exposure. convenient to not have extra keys for the trailer.
Worked as advertised. Looking forward to the added security and convenience it will provide us in the upcoming camping season
It's nice to have just one key for all the locks connected with my boat trailer and spare tire.
I've been buying from etrailer for years they have the best customer service. One key for all my trailer locks , Simplifies things.
Really like that it keys to the vehicle instead of having a separate key for each lock. Pairs perfectly with our Bolt hitch pin lock.
BOLT locks have been a mainstay for me, only having one fail (which the vendor replaced at no charge). For the coupler lock, I've been using this for quite a while ... and it's excellent... buying this as a replacement only because someone tried to take my trailer one night using a screwdriver to try to break the lock ... the lock was damaged but it did not give up the prize, and the replacement is just me being cautious, not wanting to rely on a damaged lock.
Bolt hitch and trailer locks are a great idea since they key using my vehicle key. Feel well built and solid. Only thing I question is the coupler lock does not have a protective cover. Otherwise great.
Liked the Bolt receiver lock. For security while traveling decided to tryout the Bolt coupler lock. Bit pricey, but the convenience of single key operation for all locks might be worth it. The rod with is relatively thin due to the indentation where the locking mechanism catches. Less dents and longer solid section might make for a bit stronger lock. Require the thief a few more saw strokes or more oomph with the bolt cutter.
The +: Single key operation. Simple and functional. Materials and manufacturing seem sold. Time will tell.
The -: Relative cost. No dust cover for key opening. Just gated like most quality locks. JMHO, not designed for leaving an unattended trailer.
What could be better than a lock that keys to your ignition key! Although etrailer.com does not explain that the lock keys to your key the first time you use it, it does! I thought that anyone with a GM key could then unlock it but this is not the case. While I don't think it would take much to bust this off with a crowbar it does serve two purposes very well. It makes it very easy to secure the locking mechanism in place while towing and not towing to prevent trailer theft. It also acts as a visual theft deterrent. If someone is really determined to steal your trailer they will, this will slow your average criminal by a little bit. Be sure to order the correct one for your key!
Thanks again etrailer.com for your excellent service!
I like having only one key for all my trailer locks, (I have 4). The 4 star rating is because I believe everything can improve. I hope that the key lock stiffness of these locks will lessen with use as well as sliding the lock on to the pin. I am glad that this is available.
What a slick setup. Lock and pin all in a line and rubber cover over keyhole. Since it uses my Toyota tailgate key it is easier than fumbling for yet another key to get ready to hook up a trailer.

I still like all of the Bolt products and am still using them. I would say that I do not recommend the Bolt padlocks as while they have the same great key setup I think the shackle is too long, too thin, and too exposed for easy removal by a small grinder or bolt cutter. Otherwise great stuff. I do wish they actually made a hockey puck style padlock instead
Thanks to Amy. She shipped this part and the third part that is on backorder will be shipped as soon as it comes in product is easy to key to your vehicle key.
I don't have a center cut GM key just yet but my locksmith is hooking me up with an unused that's already been cut that he was using to bring perfection to the center cut key world when they were first introduced. I do know the bolt is the perfect size to replace the snap retainer on the yoke of our Curt 30K 5th wheel hitch to help keep it right where it's supposed to be, which is helping to protect our hitch to keep it from growing legs then strolling off the property. It's really discouraging when considering all the fellow brothers and sisters out there who are scheming, thinking up new ways to attempt to rip us off. I really never pictured 2025 to be so upside-down in the mindset between what's right and what's wrong. In the modern times, absolutely nothing is sacred or safe.
Good news is that it works like all B.O.L.T. locks I have with one key. Bad news is that there is no way to seat the cylinder COMPLETELY against the hitch, which leaves a small gap that a thief could get a hacksaw into. Still, the pros outweigh the cons.
