This universal coupler lock protects your trailer from towaway theft. Lock codes to your Chevrolet Colorado's ignition key, and it's nearly impossible to pick or bump. Included lock, base plate with ball, and shackle fit most coupler and latch styles.

Note: BOLT locks permanently code to only 1 vehicle. They cannot be re-coded or re-keyed.
To install this lock simply insert the ball into the coupler's ball socket. Insert the collar into the base plate until it's snug against your trailer latch and the holes align with the holes in the base plate. Insert the lock through the holes in the base plate, and use your vehicle's ignition key to secure it.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.

Best addition you can add for trailers. I never have to go looking for keys. Had this on my last truck for the receiver and trailer pins. Only gripe is those are now useless.
I already owned one of these for my boat now I’m putting a second one on my utility trailer and I have one for my trailer hitch on my truck firm believer always nice to have only one key for all my toys
We've tried a TON of different coupler locks for our 2019 Jayco RV with an underslung coupler, and we ended up having to send them all back because they're too narrow. A year or two ago, after giving up on all the other brands from all the other sellers, I got on the phone with an e-trailer rep, and he dug through the available options to find one wide enough, and this one works!
Since it's keyed to the tow vehicle key, and since we sold our previous tow vehicle, I just bought another one because I KNEW it would fit, and it does. So thankful for this lock and for etrailer's help.
Good news is that it works like all B.O.L.T. locks I have with one key. Bad news is that there is no way to seat the cylinder COMPLETELY against the hitch, which leaves a small gap that a thief could get a hacksaw into. Still, the pros outweigh the cons.

Excellent quality! Superior security! I have Bolt products on boat trailer and cargo trailer. The feature that all my Bolt products are all keyed to my ignition key sure comes in handy!

I just bought this item and I can't say how much of a great product this is! From ordering, to having a video to show you how to assemble and then demonstrate on how to use it properly was a big plus! And finally it's made in America!!
Great Product. I never have to hunt the key because it is keyed to my GMC Canyon ignition key.

One of the better locks available for a decent price. Easy on and off, requires a cutoff wheel to defeat. I liked it enough to buy a second one.... thus, I can put two hoops on one red base and be even more secure.
Was really happy to get this "off hitch" coupler lock along with a locking receiver pin and an "on hitch" coupler lock that are now all 3 keyed the same as my ignition key for my pulling vehicle. Put your key in and turn it to the right and you are done. Should have sought this solution a long time ago.
Ordered it and received it in two days, Outstanding, everything worked as expected. I now have the 5 padlocks, receiver lock, and trailer coupler lock all set up using my ignition key, I love the fact I don't have to use 7 different keys and always have the key with the truck. Great stuff.

Took forever but given current international complications, it’s understandable . Thanks for your constant updates.
Using on my Aluma car trailer. Fits well and instructions well written. Can even combine with latch pin for added security. Uses my Toyota truck tailgate key as advertised.

I still like all of the Bolt products and am still using them. I would say that I do not recommend the Bolt padlocks as while they have the same great key setup I think the shackle is too long, too thin, and too exposed for easy removal by a small grinder or bolt cutter. Otherwise great stuff. I do wish they actually made a hockey puck style padlock instead
