After a day on the water, one battery often takes longer to recover than the other. This 2-bank charger balances charging between both, helping them reach full charge efficiently and be ready by morning.
When you're running a multi-battery trolling motor setup alongside house systems, charging performance still needs to stay consistent even without higher-output modes. This charger is built around a 24-amp, 2-bank design that automatically distributes power using Distributed-On-Demand technology. It senses battery demand and shifts available output across connected banks. Instead of splitting power evenly, it prioritizes the batteries that need it most, helping bring both to a full charge more efficiently and reducing downtime between trips.
Reliable charging depends on proper heat management, especially in enclosed marine installations. The tri-surface aluminum heat sink helps regulate temperature so the charger can maintain steady output without overheating. This supports reliable charging across all connected batteries while operating within its designed capacity.
Checking battery status shouldn't require opening compartments or tracing connections. The charge status AC glow plug provides a visible indication of charging, conditioning, or maintenance status from outside the boat. A dual function digital LED battery status monitor with push-to-test capability lets you check battery levels on demand, including while on the water. Built-in self test diagnostics with system check and individual battery bank fault indicators help confirm proper operation and quickly identify issues when they come up. For added visibility, the charger is prewired to accept an optional wired remote (PM55ZR - sold separately) that can be mounted in an easy-to-view location.
High-performance battery systems require the correct charging profile to avoid reduced performance or premature wear. This charger includes selectable profiles with temperature compensation for Flooded, AGM, HP AGM 1, HP AGM 2, and approved LiFePO4 batteries. The full output 5-stage charging system moves through Analyze, Charge, Condition, Auto Maintain, and monthly Storage Recondition modes, then continues monitoring to maintain battery health over time. This allows the charger to adapt to a wide range of battery configurations without manual intervention.
Chargers installed onboard need to handle constant exposure to moisture, vibration, and heat. This unit features IP67 rated waterproof construction for fresh and saltwater applications, along with ignition protection and built-in safeguards against over-temperature, over-current, over-voltage, reverse polarity, and fuse-related faults. Pre-wired 6 foot DC cables simplify installation, while the overall system is designed to deliver consistent charging performance in demanding marine environments.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the ProMariner ProTournament Elite 240 battery charger. So if you're tired of dealing with weak batteries, portable chargers are consistently checking whether or not that trolling motor, cranking battery, or actually charged and ready to go. This onboard charger is built to simplify that whole process. It is a 24 amp, two bank onboard marine battery charger, designed to automatically charge and maintain two batteries at the exact same time. So again, whether it's trolling motor, crank batteries, small fishing boats, marine systems, this is what this has been designed for.
And to me, one of the onboard standout features is it uses a distributed on demand charging technologies. What's that mean It's gonna automatically send charging power right where it's needed at most, and improve charging efficiency and also help reduce downtime. Now the charge status on the plug itself is also pretty neat because that's gonna glow whenever it's plugged in and it's gonna provide another visual indication of charging condition or maintenance status right from outside the boat, wherever you're plugging in the shore power. Now this is gonna be permanently mounted, so you also will have the displays here that can line up as well. And this has been built for those harsh rain environments, right So it's sealed up, waterproof, vibration-resistant.
It's gonna help it handle the moisture, heat, and the rough conditions that all the waves and just the water are gonna cause on that boat. And again, it's nice and compact, 13-3/8-inches long, about 3-1/8-inches thick or tall. And then it's about 7-1/8-inches wide on a width. And I just got that blocked up here so we can see the front of it a little better. So again, folks, lightweight, compact, this is the ProMariner ProTournament Elite 240 battery charger.
I'm Steve with etrailer, thanks for your time. Thanks for watching, and stay safe out there on the water.
