Solution for Installing Thule 726 Ski Rack on Larger Roof Rack Crossbars

Question:
Hello, I purchased a set of Thule Fat Mouth Bar adapters a while a go and finally got a round to installing them. I believe I need additional hardware, as I was unaware that the kit only works with the 724 and 725 ski racks, while I think I have the 726. The problem I am running in to that the bolts that connect the adapter to the ski rack are too long, and interfere with the sliding racks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I may have a solution for you, however the Thule Fat Mouth Bar adapters are no longer available from the manufacturer.
If you are just needing to adapt your existing Thule Ski Rack to mount onto larger crossbars, I recommend adding the Thule Xadapt7 Xsporter Load Bar Adapter # THXADAPT7. This adapter is confirmed to work with the model 726 Ski Rack that you have and will allow it to mount to your larger roof rack crossbars.
