I purchased this shank to replace the shank that came with my weight distribution hitch. The specs on this one showed an inch and 1/2 longer between the hitch pin hole and the mounting holes for the hitch head. This was just enough to allow my tailgate to open without hitting the head of the electric jack on my trailer. I probably didn’t need the amount of drop this one has but it was the only one I found that had the extra length that I needed.
Shank seems well built and does the job I intended. Trailer was great! Even suggested a different shank when this one was back ordered, but I was willing to wait for this one.
I have used etrailer multiple times and have always been pleased with the product and the service!
I really appreciated the fact that all the dimensions for the shank were available on the website. It made it easy to confirm that the part would work for our application. The website was easy to use and the shank arrived in 3 days, on schedule.
This drop bar allowed me to use my existing weight distributing Reese hitch with my lifted truck. Worked great.
It cuts out all of the whip action of the trailer and seems to make it feel as it is all one unit.one of the best purchases I have ever made thanks again

The 9 hole Reese shank did what it was designed for, but was not the answer for my situation between my camper hitch & my F 150. But it is very a strong / heavy duty shank with plenty of adjustment.

I get what you're saying but despite that, I think you'll find this to be stout and reliable, Steve :)
worked perfect for what I required.
First, this is about 1.5" longer than the original and allows me a better turning radius. Second, this hit the sweet spot for my trailer being level. No more creaking on Sundays when leaving camp. It arrived 2 days earlier than expected so that was a double bonus.
after 1 year still pulling race trailer up and down the highway. no complaints here great product and was able to adjust tounge on trailer height right where i needed it to be.
