When I first rec'd the solenoid, I could not get it to work as advertised since there was no paperwork with it. I was using it to replace a different type of solenoid. After a few wiring configurations I finally got it to operate as it should ad I am very happy. The original type solenoid could not be located & was on back order for over $70. This one was about half. 155167

I received the solenoid quickly, it works very well and fit perfectly where I needed it. It is running a 12v pump on a 100a fuse-protected circuit. 136562

Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Installing A Solenoid For Second Battery In Truck
  • When using the TorkLift HiddenPower Under-Vehicle Battery Mount with Battery Box # TLA7728 you mentioned, you can use a solenoid like the Starter Solenoid - SPST - 12 Volt - 100 Amp - Continuous Duty - Insulated - UL Listed # PK5230701 or Tow Ready battery Isolation Solenoid # TR118665. This solenoid allows the vehicle battery to send power to the second battery when the vehicle is in accessory mode or when the vehicle is running. It will not draw power from the battery when the accessory...

  • Wiring in a Solenoid w/Fuse Tap for 12V Power w/Switch on Tow Vehicle to Power Camper Accessories
  • I spoke to my contact and he informed me that the solenoid will need to be tapped into at least a 10 amp fuse to be able to power the solenoid's switch mechanism. He also told me that the amp draw will not be limited by the amp rating of the fuse that the ignition wire is tapped into. I recommend the Firestone fuse tap # F2526 for your solenoid installation. You will want to start at the battery and wire in the circuit breaker # 38630 then connect this to the 12v solenoid like...

  • How Does Starter Solenoid # PK5230701 Wire Up
  • The 2 larger terminals on either side of the solenoid # PK5230701 are 12 volt power in and out. Power in can come from the battery or alternator. The two smaller terminals are for ground and an ignition source (something that only has 12 volt power when the ignition is turned to the on position). It does not matter which is used as they can interchange. Pollak states to mount the solenoid in an enclosed area but DO NOT install in the engine compartment.

  • What is the Difference Between the Tow Ready and the Pollak Soleniods
  • The Tow Ready Battery Isolation Solenoid, # TR118665, is a hardwired solenoid that is used to isolate your vehicle's 12-volt power when the vehicle ignition had been turned off. This solenoid has a 80 amp rating and will ground to your vehicle through the solenoids mounting bracket. This solenoid is designed to disconnect your vehicle from the trailers 12-volt system so not to run down your vehicle's battery. The Pollak Starter Solenoid, # PK5230701, is a 4-wire continuous duty solenoid...

  • Can Starter Solenoid be Used in 2001 Jayco Eagle Mini Motorhome
  • I see no reason why you would not be able to use the Starter Solenoid - SPST - 12 Volt - 100 Amp - Continuous Duty # PK5230701 in your 2001 Jayco Eagle Mini Motorhome. We have no way of knowing what solenoid you currently have, but this solenoid should be just fine. I've added a link to a video review for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Solenoid for Battery Isolation on Truck Camper
  • All you really need is a battery isolation solenoid such as the Tow Ready # TR118665 or Pollak # PK5230701. This will pull power from the truck's battery to your camper's battery when your '06 Chevy is running, but not when the truck is off.

  • Recommended Solenoid For Camper That Protect The Battery Charge On Truck
  • I recommend the Pollak Starter Solenoid, part # PK5230701, to protect your truck battery charge. The # TR118665 is also a good option and will perform in the same manner. The solenoid allows the vehicle battery to send power to the camper battery when the vehicle is running or in accessory mode. It will not draw power from the battery when the accessory wire is switched off so the camper battery will not draw power from the truck battery resulting in a possible situation of your truck...

  • Mounting Orientation and Country of Origin for Pollak Starter Solenoid PK5230701
  • Pollak solenoid # PK5230701 is designed to be mounted vertically, with the cap facing downward. It should be mounted in an enclosed area, but not in the engine compartment. Solenoid # PK5230701 is actually manufactured in Mexico. You should know, though, that Pollak is a certified ISO9001/QS9000 manufacturer and has also earned Q1 preferred status at Ford, General Motors' Mark of Excellence, Chrysler's Gold Pentastar, Navistar V and similar ranking with PACCAR, Freightliner, John Deere,...

  • How Does The Tow Ready Battery Isolation Solenoid Work?
  • The Tow Ready Battery Isolation Solenoid, # TR118665, is not the same thing as a starter solenoid or the Ford solenoid but could be used in a similar way. This solenoid is intended to isolate the power to the trailer so it doesn't drain the battery of your towing vehicle when the ignition is switched off. It is rated for 80 amps. This protects your trailer from draining your vehicle battery while still connected and leaving you needing a jump start or forgetting to plug in your trailer...

  • Which Post of Starter Solenoid - SPST Is Ground
  • A solenoid that has 3 terminals total such as # TR118665 grounds through the mounting hardware so it must be attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface (if not otherwise internally grounded). A 4 terminal solenoid such as # PK5230701 requires a separate ground wire. EIther terminal can be the power or the ground.

  • How to Wire a 4-Terminal Solenoid That Replaced a 3-Terminal Solenoid
  • A 4-terminal starter solenoid like the Pollak # PK5230701 needs to be wired so that the 12V power in/out is connected to the two larger terminals while the two smaller terminals are connected to ground and an ignition source. A 3-terminal solenoid grounds through the hardware so if you didn't run a wire for ground to the 4-terminal solenoid then that is your issue. If this doesn't fix your problem let me know what solenoid you are using and if we carry it I can reach out to the manufacturer...

  • What is the Difference Between 3 and 4 Terminal Solenoids
  • A solenoid that has 3 terminals total such as # TR118665 grounds through the mounting hardware so it must be attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface (if not otherwise internally grounded). A 4 terminal solenoid such as # PK5230701 requires a separate ground wire. You could use either style provided it is rated properly for your application.
