Question:
I know this is for a 8ft truckbed and I do not have that option as I only have a 6.5 truckbed. So I had other ideas of putting a battery inside my truckbed hidden away but what I want to know is the other part that seperates your truck battery from the extra battery. So the part that attaches to the front of the vehicle and separates the two so when your even plugged into your truck from the inside your only using the extra battery not the truck.

When using the TorkLift HiddenPower Under-Vehicle Battery Mount with Battery Box # TLA7728 you mentioned, you can use a solenoid like the Starter Solenoid - SPST - 12 Volt - 100 Amp - Continuous Duty - Insulated - UL Listed # PK5230701 or battery Isolation Solenoid # PK5231201. This solenoid allows the vehicle battery to send power to the second battery when the vehicle is in accessory mode or when the vehicle is running. It will not draw power from the battery when the accessory wire is not activated so the second battery will not draw power from the vehicle battery resulting in a possible situation of your truck not starting. With a solenoid like this in place, you will be able to almost drain your second battery without having the vehicle battery effected in any way.
