Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, today we're gonna take a quick look at this Lippert replacement manual override grommet. This is going to replace the grommet that installs in the manual override port on your Solera powered RV awning drive pin. And this will help to protect the manual override access port from rain and debris so you won't have to worry about anything getting in there. Because this is a direct replacement from Lippert, which is the company that produces the Solera awnings, you can trust this is gonna fit right in place of that original grommet, you're not going to have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. But just to give you a little bit more reassurance, you can see our outer diameter there is right about one inch and then our internal diameter, we've got that cut out, but overall we're at about three-quarters of an inch. So, just like the original, it's going to fit in.

I did not receive this item in the original order. It showed that it was packed but was not in the box. I even flattened out the packing materials looking for the item. The grommet fit fine. Installation is helped with the notch on the internal ridge...It just took forever to get to me. That's not the fault of eTrailer but the USPS. I would recommend not shipping with USPS.

This grommet doesn’t fit either. We’re 0 for 2 in the attempt to cover this Solera access hole. I will be returning both, as I have no use for either.

@JennyN I have already had 2 different grommets sent. Neither fit, and I was told a return of said items wasn’t worth it, as the shipping alone makes the return not worth it. I sent them back, anyway. Hopefully, your company receives them on Thursday. I don’t know if I’m willing to have another grommet sent if a return “isn’t worth it” if it doesn’t fit.

The grommet came in a round shape and the hole in the awning cover is oblong. I hope it stays in the hole, not a very good fit.

Hello Sarah, Welcome to etrailer! I'm glad you found us. The first thing you'll want to do is verify that you have a Solera awning. I attached an image that shows the two different head cover styles. The easiest way to tell them apart is by looking for the Lippert (LCI) logo. If your head cover has the logo, it's the older style and has a more rounded, bubbly appearance.
