Video Transcript for Derale Lighted On/Off Fan Switch Installation

Today, on our old trailer, we'll be installing the Derale on/off switch, part number D16740. We'll begin here by removing the old, broken switch. To do this, we'll need to remove the two screws that hold the plate. Then, we'll remove the two wires from the back side. With the wires removed from the back side of the switch, we'll go ahead and squeeze the tabs on the top and bottom. This will allow the switch to come out of the plate.

You'll notice that the old switch only has two prongs on the back, and the new one has three. Now, on the new one, we will not be using the gold prong, we will be using the two silver, or chrome colored, prongs. Because, we'll only be using two of the three prongs, the light up feature will not work, but the switch will still turn the interior lights on and off in this trailer. Now, to install our new plug, we'll go ahead and take the plate and the plug, sliding the plug from the front side and pushing it into position, making sure that the locking tabs snap in. All that's left then, is to reconnect the two wires on the back side. It doesn't matter which wire goes on either of these two chrome prongs here. The switch will work either way.

We'll slide each of our wires over the prongs. It's a good idea to test the switch, before we mount it back to the wall. That is the on position. That is the off position. Now that we've tested our switch, all that's left to do is to put the two screws back in that hold it to the wall. That's all there is to it, to installing the Derale lighted on/off switch, part number D16740.

Still toggles, the light is a bit brighter than what I anticipated which is rough at night. Installed on dash of truck to engage turbo brake, when I get around to it I will be changing it out for something less bright. The switch works perfect.

I needed a low pair of lites for my lawnmower. These worked perfectly for my needs. Delivery was very quick. I have bought from Etrailer in the past with same results on trailer hitch accessories. Customer Service is great.

  • Kill Switch Idea for Powered Landing Gear Jack to Help Deter Theft
You could make a kill switch with something like the Derale switch # D16740 so that when you have this switch off the jacks won't operate. The key will be to hide this switch so that only you'd know where it is. You'd want to install this on the power wire for your current switch's circuit and you'd be set.

  • Replacement Switch for Dome Light in Camper
I do have a solution for you, however based on my research, it appears that the exact switch part number 212481 referenced in your question is no longer available from the manufacturer. We do have some replacement switches available that should work with the existing dome light in your camper. I recommend looking at the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch # D16740, which looks very similar to the switch you are needing to replace. This is a 3-Pole, 12 Volt switch that can be used to power your...

  • How to Determine if Derale 32" High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly Will Work
Even though the engine components we carry are meant to be a supplement to the OEM components we have heard of people using them as replacements for OEM products. If you want to try using the Derale 32" High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly # D16934 as a replacement then you need to make sure the 4,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) is a high enough rating and that the overall dimensions of this product will fit your aplpication. I have attached a diagram showing the dimensions...

  • Recommended Radiator Fan For 2012 Chevrolet Express Van
One thing to consider when installing a radiator fan is the amount of room you have for installation. I recommend installing a fan in front of the radiator. You will want a fan that has a high CFM(cubic feet per minute). If you have the room I recommend a fan like the Derale, part # D18217. This fan has a high output of 2,400 CFM on high speed and 1,800 on low. The fan overall dimensions are 16-7/8 inches wide x 16-7/8 inches tall x 2-5/8 inches deep. If you find the fan will not fit...

In order to wire the Derale 26" Dual High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly part # D16927 to a manual switch you will need two of the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans part # D16740. There are three terminals on the switch which are for accessory, power, and ground. The accessory terminal will need to be attached to the yellow wire on the included relay harness. The power terminal will need to be attached directly to the positive battery post and the ground...

  • Switch to Use for Trailer Lights Powered by Trailer's Battery
You have it figured out I'd say. It really is just a matter of running the lights to the battery you install in your trailer like you mentioned. We use switch part # D16740 a lot for this type of install. Check out the install video link I attached to see the install process using this switch to power lights. No fuses or resistors would be needed either. 14 gauge wire would be adequate as well.

  • Could LED Flood Light # 3371492139 be Wired to Switch
You would just need to wire the LED Flood Light # 3371492139 to your truck battery through a switch so that you could turn it off and on as needed. For a switch we then have the # D16740 which you could mount on your dash.

  • Potential Replacement White Switch for a Light in a Monico TS-24 BH
I had a little bit of a hard time finding anything using those numbers. But from what I could find, it looks like the Single 12V Rocker Switch # 37213395 (white) may work. The switch itself measures 1.12" tall x 0.547" wide and fits a cut-out of 1.125" tall x 0.55" wide. I would recommend taking a look at your current switch and seeing if it compares to this option.

  • Replacing Clutch Radiator Fan with an Electric Fan on a 1999 GMC Yukon
Pushers are more efficient and more common. A puller is typically only installed when you don't have enough room between your engine and your radiator. It looks like your 1999 GMC Yukon has a 5.7 L V8 engine which means you would want to shoot for a CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) range of 2,200 - 3,000. The most popular fan that we have in this range is the Derale 17" Radiator Fan # D18217 which has an output of 2,400 CFM. When it comes to fitting your vehicle it really just depends on what...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2005 Jeep Liberty
The Derale Transmission Cooler you referenced, # D13503 would be an excellent choice to protect the transmission of your 2005 Liberty. An aftermarket cooler will keep your transmission fluid in the optimal temperature range, below 200 degrees. The optimal installation position would be directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. Because of the plate-fin design of the transmission cooler, plenty of air will be able to pass through it and reach the A/C condenser...

A relay would not be required for the installation of the # D15860. All that is needed is power and ground and it will work just fine. You could activate it with a switch like part # D16740 or with a thermostat switch like part # D15721.

The Derale 32 inch High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly - 4,000 CFM, item # D16934, is designed as a universal application and will mount behind the radiator on your 1985 Ford with 6.9 Liter diesel engine. You will need to measure to be sure there is room to mount the assembly behind the radiator. I have listed the dimensions below. The ideal place to mount an aftermarket transmission cooler is behind the front grille but in front of the radiator of your vehicle. The Derale fan you asked about is only able to be used as a puller, so it wouldn't work as a pusher application. And these electric fans should be mounted inside the engine compartment as opposed to outside (you wouldn't want it exposed to the elements). The best option we can offer if you have limited clearance is a pusher fan with as little depth as possible: - Derale 17" High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan - 2,400 CFM # D18217 This is a single fan which is 16-7/8" wide x 16-7/8"...
