Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans

Today, on our old trailer, we'll be installing the Derale on/off switch, part number D16740. We'll begin here by removing the old, broken switch. To do this, we'll need to remove the two screws that hold the plate. Then, we'll remove the two wires from the back side. With the wires removed from the back side of the switch, we'll go ahead and squeeze the tabs on the top and bottom. This will allow the switch to come out of the plate.

You'll notice that the old switch only has two prongs on the back, and the new one has three. Now, on the new one, we will not be using the gold prong, we will be using the two silver, or chrome colored, prongs. Because, we'll only be using two of the three prongs, the light up feature will not work, but the switch will still turn the interior lights on and off in this trailer. Now, to install our new plug, we'll go ahead and take the plate and the plug, sliding the plug from the front side and pushing it into position, making sure that the locking tabs snap in. All that's left then, is to reconnect the two wires on the back side. It doesn't matter which wire goes on either of these two chrome prongs here. The switch will work either way.

We'll slide each of our wires over the prongs. It's a good idea to test the switch, before we mount it back to the wall. That is the on position. That is the off position. Now that we've tested our switch, all that's left to do is to put the two screws back in that hold it to the wall. That's all there is to it, to installing the Derale lighted on/off switch, part number D16740.

Quickly and easily power your vehicle's electric fan with this lighted toggle switch.

I needed a low pair of lites for my lawnmower. These worked perfectly for my needs. Delivery was very quick. I have bought from Etrailer in the past with same results on trailer hitch accessories. Customer Service is great.

Still toggles, the light is a bit brighter than what I anticipated which is rough at night. Installed on dash of truck to engage turbo brake, when I get around to it I will be changing it out for something less bright. The switch works perfect.

  • What Temperature Does the Fan Activate on the Derale Remote Transmission Cooler # D15830
On the Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D15830, the operation of the fan will depend on which way it is connected to your vehicle. You can wire the fan to be turned on manually by using a switch like the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch, # D16740. This way you can turn the fan on and off as needed. The other way is to use the Derale Remote Mounting Kit, part # D13023. This kit will use an in-line thermostat that will turn on the fan at 180 degrees and automatically turn off the fan at 165...

  • How Would Hopkins Smart Hitch Back Up Camera be Installed on Front of Vehicle
We installed the Hopkins Backup Camera # HM50002 on a vehicle without a 7-way which I attached an install video to this page for you to check out. Basically it comes down to using the wiring that's on the 7-way connector plugs that come with the kit to run a powered source to. You'll see a white and purple wire from those two connectors. The purple wire you'd run a switch power source to like you mentioned and the white wire gets grounded and that's all you'd need to do from a wiring standpoint.

  • Replacement Switch for Dome Light in Camper
I do have a solution for you, however based on my research, it appears that the exact switch part number 212481 referenced in your question is no longer available from the manufacturer. We do have some replacement switches available that should work with the existing dome light in your camper. I recommend looking at the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch # D16740, which looks very similar to the switch you are needing to replace. This is a 3-Pole, 12 Volt switch that can be used to power your...

Yes, there is Ken. You can install the Derale 32 inch High-Output, Electric Radiator Fan-and-Shroud Assembly - 4,000 CFM, item # D16934. It is designed as a universal application so you'll need to measure to be sure there is room to mount the assembly behind the radiator. I have listed the dimensions below: Width - 31-3/8" Height - 15-3/4" Overall Depth - 3-1/4" Mounting Holes - 12-7/8" Top to Bottom Mounting holes - 28-7/8" Side to Side You will also need two turn-on sources, one for...

The Tuson sway control part # 335TSC-1000 doesn't have an off/on switch so if you really wanted to kill it completely you would need to cut power to it with an additional switch on the power wire like with the # D16740.

What you would need is a switch like the # D16740, an isolation solenoid part # PK5231201 and some wire like # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot). You'd run wire from the positive post of the battery to the terminal on the side of the solenoid and then on the other side run wire to the lights you want to activate. Next you'll run another wire from the battery's positive post to the switch and then from there to the center pin of the solenoid. This will activate the solenoid with the switch and...

If you're going to be wiring the camera on the Furion Vision S # FOS43TASF directly to your battery or inverter, as opposed to running it through the the reverse or running light circuit on your 7 way trailer connector, you will want to install a switch like the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch # D16740 in line with that connection. Wiring in this manner will enable this camera to be used when parked without a tow vehicle connected and the connected on/off switch will help you keep your battery...

  • Can Furrion Vision S RV Observation System be Powered from RV Battery
The Furrion Vision S systems like the part # FR98NR that you referenced are normally installed like you have it with the running lights being the activation circuit since it's very convenient and easy to use and not accidentally leave on. If you wanted to use the trailer battery power circuit as the activation circuit you certainly could but it would be a matter of running the power wire of the camera to it instead of the running lights. You'd want to use a switch too so that you'd be...

As long as the switch can handle the amperage load of two of the heating pads part # 277-000164 yes it would be fine. This heating pad draws 4.8 amps. So the switch would need to be able to accommodate 9.6 amps. The part # D16740 would easily handle the amperage.

  • Installing On/Off Switch for Backup Camera Observation System
Since you want to use the Furrion Digital Wireless Observation System when traveling, the best option is normally to wire the camera into your running lights. If you wish add a switch like # PK34513 or # D16740 in line you can simply run that power wire to the battery instead. Unfortunately I don't know where the junction is on your specific trailer, so you will need to trace that wire at least to where you would like to add the switch. If you wanted the Vision S system to have power so that you could use it not connected to your tow vehicle you'd need to run a power through a switch to the battery on the trailer so that you could have power to it whenever you needed. We have 12 gauge wire by the foot with # 12-1-1 that you could use for this with a switch like # D16740. With the switch off the lights of your trailer light will still activate the system as well.

When installing a camper shell on a truck, typically, there is not a specific wiring harness for the third brake light and dome light. I am not aware of a wiring harness for a Nissan Frontier that will provide those functions for a camper shell. It would be best to choose the same size wire, so...
