Just recieved my curt model 51110 brake control box along with the wire harness made for my 2002 chevy silverado i followed the install instructions and i have no indication the brake box working im assuming that the battery connection is good as the truck starts just fine can you help

It sounds like the wiring harness under the dash of your 2002 Chevrolet Silverado does not have power running to it. To test this, use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to check the connector.
If this is the problem, you will need a Universal Wiring Kit for Brake Controllers # C51500. The install instructions are attached.
You'll also need to modify the factory harness in your truck a bit. On the factory harness cut the battery wire leading to the factory connector leaving enough room to use a butt connector to attach to the battery wire from the universal brake control wiring kit. Then cut the trailer brake wire leading to the factory connector leaving enough room to use a butt connector to attach to the trailer brake wire from the universal brake control wiring kit. These steps are broken out in step 3 of the wiring adapter # C51342 instructions.
If the factory harness in your truck does have power to it when you test it, you'll want to test each wire of the new harness # C51342 with a multimeter.
