Question:
Questions: I have a 2014 Wrangler unlimited. It currently has the factory 4-way trailer socket installed. I will be towing a 2000lb off-road trailer, one axle with e-brakes. As I will often be off road and the vehicle will be at all kinds of odd angles, how does this affect the function of a brake controllerlike a Primus or P2? ALSO, I will be installing the Mopar 7-way towing harness soon. This leaves me with one wire leading to the brake controller. Do I need anything else in between a Primus or P2 to connect the controller to the mopar harness? THX

For a brake controller for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you have a couple options for towing your off road trailer.
If the majority of the roads you plan on traveling will be similar to most public roads I would go with a proportional brake controller. The one I would recommend would be the Prodigy P2 # 90885. This controller has the most flexibility in how it can be mounted.
If the majority of the areas you plan on taking your trailer will be slow speed areas with odd angles then a time-delayed controller would be your best option. For that I would recommend the Draw-Tite Activator IV # 5504.
To install the brake controller you will want the # C51500 to power the controller. You will need to run a length of 10 gauge wire from the brake circuit of the Mopar 7-way you plan on installing, and finally run the red wire of the controller to the stoplight switch on your brake pedal.
