Today we're going to take a look at the Derale 17" rigid steel-blade belt driven race fan. It's a standard rotation design and has an 8,000 RPM rating. Now this fan will provide more airflow than your factory fan, no matter the RPM. Does meet most racing regulation. This Derale race fan will eliminate the need for a fan clutch and again it is rated up to 8,000 RPM. Features a rigid blade design so the fan will need less clearance as the blades will not flex towards the radiator.
The diameter on this fan, which is measured edge to edge here, is 17". We're going to take a tape measure and put it on there just to show you. One edge to this edge, 17". Total depth is going to be right at 2 5/16". The blade pitch on this is 28 degrees. Now this fan does have the steel center hub right here in the middle and then the steel blades you can see are attached to it.
It is a powder coated finish on both the fan blades and the center hub. The center hole here, that mounts to the engine, that has a 5/8th" diameter hole. If you notice the 4 elongated holes next to it, that's the flange bolt spacing. Since they're elongated the bolt pattern range would be from 1 3/4" up to 2 1/4". Now this is designed for belt driven application and again it is a standard rotation in this design.
When we say standard rotation, the way you can tell that is a fan will either be standard rotation or reverse rotation. The way you can tell if it's standard is you look at the engine, from the front of the car towards the rear of the car, if the fan rotates clockwise then it is a standard rotation. That should do it for the review on the Derale 17" rigid steel-blade belt driven race fan, standard rotation at 8,000 RPM rating.

Just installed this fan on a cj5, and wow this thing moves some air, at idle and all through the rpm range. I would definitely buy this again for other projects.
Works better than expected. Put this on a Cat 3054T for my Morbark model 13 chipper. Stock fan was about $300.00 No complaints after one year of use.
The product seems alright for now, but I am sad to say it's took almost a month to receive. I wished I would have known the wait prior to buying. A little more upfront information would've been appreciated.
