When space gets tight during slow-speed turns, this hitch takes care of the clearance for you. The built-in rack-and-pinion gear system slides automatically to give you 14" of travel front to back—no need to get in and out of the cab or pull a lever. As you turn, the hitch head glides smoothly toward the tailgate and then slides back into position as you straighten out, giving your trailer the room it needs without jerking or binding. It’s a simple mechanical solution that makes maneuvering around campsites or parking lots stress-free.
The wraparound, single-piece jaw completely surrounds the king pin for 360-degree contact. That solid steel engagement, backed by a 3/4" thick locking bar, keeps the trailer securely coupled and cuts down on movement between the truck and trailer. With less rattle than slide-bar designs, you get a quieter ride and a secure hook-up every time you hitch.
Long trips feel steadier thanks to the double-pivoting head that moves both front to back and side to side. Three polyurethane dampeners—two for side-to-side movement and one for fore-and-aft motion—soak up road shock and noise while helping the head pivot into position for an easier hookup. It’s a noticeable difference in how stable and calm everything feels once you’re rolling.
Rated for a 21,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 5,250 lbs vertical load limit, this hitch’s heavy-duty steel construction has what it takes for serious towing. The powder coat finish helps resist corrosion, and height settings of 15-1/4", 16-1/2", or 18" let you fine-tune your setup for a level ride. The design bolts together easily with included base rails and custom brackets so you can get towing quickly with solid, dependable strength under your trailer.
This fifth-wheel trailer hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins. Do not use any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin with this hitch.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a real quick look at this Demco Premier Series Custom Mounting Brackets. Now as I mentioned, these brackets are custom fit for your 2017 to 2022 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty with a 6 3/4-foot and 8-foot bed without the OEM prep package, and then the 2017 to 2022 Ford F-450 Super Duty with the 8-foot bed and without the OEM prep package. To confirm that these are going to work for you, please take advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Input the year, make and model of your truck and our fit guide will let you know if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So these installation brackets are going to mount beneath your Ford truck's bed to provide attachment points for your Demco universal above bed base rails for Premiere Series 5th wheel trailer hitches.
And on your screen I am including our item number for those base rails, along with a picture. However, I do have one of those base rails here just to show you demonstration purposes what the base rail looks like. So these brackets are going to work with these base rails. And as you probably know, these base rails do sit in your truck bed and they allow the installation of your 5th wheel trailer hitch. So these custom brackets are going to mount to existing holes in your truck's frame, and what that means for you is no drilling is required, and that's gonna drastically reduce the installation time and avoid known obstacles along the frame of your truck.

Thank you for the review! While I do see where a hole in the mounting bracket would make this easier to remove with your Adapter Plate # DM6333, a solid bracket in this instance is much better for strength, especially considering this hitch is designed around the universal rails for trucks.

In the description it says locking plates, sold separately, are required for the Rota-Flex Pin box that you have. Item # DM6171

I firmly believe that every fifth sold should have one of these hitches. It is a job getting it in and out of truck but I feel better knowing its not going to let my trailer damage my truck.

After about 6000 miles the hitch developed some fore and aft movement. After another 2000 miles it seemed to be excessive with a loud clunk when stopping and starting. Yes, I do grease it as per instructions before each trip. I called Demco and told them the problem and they sent me the parts I needed at no charge since it was under warranty. Since I had the mechanical ability I disassembled, diagnosed and repaired it myself. I thought later on that I should have been compensated something for my time only because if I took it to a dealer they would have charged for labor. Just a suggestion, there needs to be an easier way to lubricate this hitch rather than removing the large pivot pin and also the large pivot bolt and greasing them by hand. Some well placed grease fittings would make this job a lot easier and cleaner, especially when on the road. Also, the hitch owner would be far more inclined to do it. Other than that the hitch has performed great and I am very happy with it. Thanks.
